Construction eh? I'm a machinist, and I had to back out of buying land because I couldn't financially make it work :/ Maybe next year!
Of course I'm still only in my mid Twenties so I've got a long time to save too.

Thanks! I was trying to get up there for the sunset but I was slightly late.

You can definitely feel the trailer back there (it's 4,400 pounds or so), but rides real nice. It was so nice using it today for taking 3500 pounds or so of brick to the dump. Back up, push the button and all done.

Having fun right now, should've come out this summer and started working on this stuff, but the road trip was worth it... i knew work would wait.

We're gonna snag a nice 18ft enclosed from the same place shortly and might have to check out an upcoming auction in Longmont that has some equipment. :spy:

Another plug for anyone needing a trailer in the front range. Reed Trailer has a few locations, family owned and prices are great even comparing their heavy duty trailers vs the Walmart grade stuff most places sell.

    Yeah construction.

Yup, just save and it'll happen. And don't buy somewhat high like i did my first time... And end up only breaking even.

Got the full size backhoe we can use so leaning towards a mini excavator since it'll be good for trenching for power and septic.

So i got another thing to look into.

Someone told me that homeowners insurance will be much cheaper if the garage is separate from the house.

So, now should I build two buildings separate from each other. Guess I'll need to call and see what the price difference is.

Shouse goals for sure, but if it saves you money in the long run, go for two. You could also do Modular(Not to be confused with mobile, they aren't the same, seriously.) on a basement as your residence, and then a Steel building as your garage.

Yeah, it makes sense that it would be cheaper for insurance, but... Additional permitting, cost, foundation is going to add up.

And there's a decent chance that it'll be a two year house and next will be on a bunch more property so that's also a factor.

Don't have a need for a basement either although I'm tempted to sneak in an in ground fridge in the pantry. :spy:
