Hello, new here. In fact I just bought a nice 2004 double cab tacoma trd offroad. When I inspected the truck before buying, the leaf springs were pretty much dead and frowning.

I've relentlessly been looking for a thread on STOCK height leaf springs with better load capacity that will get rid of axle wrap but cannot find any info. All i've found is leaf springs that give your truck a lift (which I don't want).

Is my only option to get a custom leaf pack? Is there options for buying new stock leaf springs and adding a leaf without adding much lift (1 inch or less)? Applications I need the leaf springs for: 300 lb dirt bike on the hitch receiver, small trailer pulling 2-3 dirt bikes, camping gear, moderate off roading, and maybe some top soil or gravel from time to time at the house.

    Anything would help. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! I am well aware of the Deavers, but I am weary beacuse in the description it says this so it will not work for me, as I need to haul a heavy dirt bike and tow occasionally/put weight in bed.

"NOTE: Deaver Leaf Springs are progressive design springs. They are not suited for carrying weight in the back of your truck or for towing."-From website description

Ah, interesting. I assumed that meant for no more weight than stock, but that could very well be wrong. It may be worth emailing deaver and having a chat with them about it.

From what I read in other forums you sacrifice load capacity (less than stock) with the deavers for a better ride and off road travel

Ahh, so not exactly what you want. That's a bummer. Where are you located? There's a leaf shop near me that will make custom packs for less than $400 for the pair.

I live in utah, there is a shop close by I'll probably give them a call tomorrow. Has anyone heard of or know anything about General Spring HD leaf packs? They are 3 leafs with overload leaf.

I had the stock weight General Springs (non-HD version) and they were decent. Most people who have them like them but one or two people have had issues with one of the leaves cracking.

Have you considered airbags? That sounds like it might be good solution for stock height but increased weight capacity.

I went ahead and ordered the HD Generals. The rep there told me they would only lift truck 1-1.5 inches, which I can deal with. Going to install Bilstein 5100's, try to keep it stock height as possible. Pics coming soon!

Nice, just be ready for a lift for a bit while spring packs settle. Always a trade off with adding leaves for capacity and ride quality. What made you not just OEM replacement leaves?

Curious how this turned out. I have an '08 that I'm interested in doing the same with. I tow a 5000lbs TT and would like to decrease the sag and offer better handling for both the trailer and heavy bed loads.
