Anyone done this/have photos of a silver Sport? I am wanting to do, but I have factory grille and interested to see how the black contrasts with NOT having a black grille or black off-road chin.

It's gonna look great no matter the color of truck or grille.

tackling this on Saturday/Sunday. thinking of doing exactly what MESO did as far as painting, but then paint the ring around the projector inferno to match the truck... but that may look to... bro for my taste... so we'll see. wish me luck lol

The horizontal bars that span across the turn signal bucket I left clear instead of painting black, that is the only thing I did differently that most everyone else. I don't like the way it looks.

If you upgrade to morimotos, and say, a bulb blows...is it easily changeable? Or do you have to rebake and split all over again? Also will added heat deteriorate the housing lens any quicker than the hot sun?

No baking needed to change out the Morimoto bulb if it were to burn out/blow. Not sure about heat differences but I have no issues after 5 months.

Now that you have a lot of experience, what temperature would you recommend to open the headlights?
I finally decided to go for it after reading this thread

It's not too bad. Just do one side at a time if you don't have an extra pair and you daily drive your Tacoma. I like 265°.

Yeah that permaseal is some tough stuff. Good you'll have a bit of practice though!

If you get the 35W setup heat isn’t an issue. Mine won’t melt ice off the lense like the factory halogen bulbs did.

300 10 minutes. If you can’t get them split, back in for 2 minutes. Get some gloves. They are hot. Don’t be a pussy. Pull it like you did in highschool.

    I do 285 ~15min.
Also, not all oven readouts are equal.

Permaseal is super easy to remove if done correctly. It’s all about temperature. Keep it in the right temp zone and you can peel the whole thing out in one piece. Too hot...breaks apart. Too cold...pain in the ass. So once you get them separated, put the bottom back in the oven and experiment with times. Takes me about 1-2 minutes to pull the seal out per headlight.
