I found out today I have been selected to be an AETC Instructor at Ft. Lee VA, Air Transportation (2T2X1)..

I guess the only question I have if anyone has worked in AETC, do I go somewhere before i actually start to teaching for training or do i just show up and get spun up and start teaching.

You must attend the instructor course IF the material is certified by AETC and it awards an AFSC upon graduation.

They will send you to the instructor course either in-route or when you first get there. Should be something annotated in your orders about training.

That's good. I loved instructor duty. Had a few AF guys/gals I worked with. They were very professional and knew their shit when it came to curriculum matters.

Im the UTM at an Intel tech school in TX. You 'll complete BIC before you start teaching. If you do not have a degree you will have to complete internship. That lasts 12 months

Congrats! Just don't be one of the instructors who gets caught having 'relations' with a student... Should look good on your Senior package, if you stay in long enough.

There have been some instructors that have had inappropriate relations with students! Pretty crazy! Most instructors i know don't really like instructing.

The only thing I spent money on, more than usual, was dry cleaning. I had more uniforms too, 5 sets for winter and 5 sets for summer (we have these gay white and blue/black uniforms we change every 6 months). The white ones are polyester and they get dirty at the littlest thing. You couldn't put your hands in the pockets without getting the pocket dirty.
I did a lot more PT than usual too....we had daily PT sessions.
I spent a lot more time at work in the beginning. It usually takes 4 hours of prep time for every hour your on the podium. That can get taxing if you don't manage time well. We did get a lot more freedom to take personal time off though.
Now, the people at bootcamp...those are the people that deserve extra money...!!

I doubt you'll on the podium everyday.....then again, I have no idea what subject you'll teach or how often you'll go through classes
