The scout and scout bobber have 6 gears. For some reason, on the scout sixty, they removed the 5th gear ratio, so it still has the same top end gear for interstate travel. It seems an odd thing to do, but I guess it saves money some how.

The scout/scout 60 motors live in the higher RPMS and I rarely go above 4th gear for most of my riding which is in the 55-60mph range. The scout motor is really lively above 4500rpm and redlines above 8000rpm.

I've already changed a lot on it, and I haven't even taken delivery yet. I'm not sure where I'll end up, as I don't have a clear plan for it. LED light, better exhaust, performance intake, some cosmetic things, bobber grips, etc. is what I've already done. Looking at adding a Licks solo bag and bar end mirrors. Will do the fuelmoto PVCX remap after the 500 mile breakin.

It's an addiction. A stock bike is like a stock Tacoma. A damn shame.

I wish I could have got the scout motor on the 48 frame. I think the 48 is one of the best looking bikes made.

Finally got around to fixing this plug. Not sure if the Nokya yellow bulb was to blame.. but I put the stock bulb back in.

Looking for a good resource to use to trouble shoot my clutch on a 2001 Kaw Vulcan 1500. Bought the bike in this fall, put 400 plus miles on it, parked it for the winter. Started it up the other day, and can not get the clutch to release. When I depress the clutch handle and shift into first the bike just takes off, and stalls.

cable or hydro? (dont know the bike) but im assuming its cable and theres still resistance at the handle? a bolt could have came loose and is lodged in there, cable needs adjusted, or the plates are just stuck are possibilities
