What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Fixed my drivers side door handle last night, was way easier than the passenger side was for some reason...but I snapped the plastic retaining clip on the inner door handle. So I can get into my truck again from the driver's side, but now I can't get out of it lol

Ordered a new one from Toyota should be here tomorrow

 

Does the spring come in several lengths at ace or it just one size? My pedal does the sag thing and pisses me off. For $2 seems like a good project

Sounds about right, maybe less. I use to overlap but after watching a couple youtube videos a guy explained you only need to cover a small percentage to reduce noise. From then on I just covered a majority but not a complete coverage.

 

Just one size. There are several there just get the #70 one

Yes, it’s actually 2 booths put together. Both are down draft but the farthest one heats, can open the middle doors and heat both booths though

 

Anyone here lose the key to their spare tire? I just discovered mine was missing since I bought the truck. I hope they still make em and aren't expensive.

Or better yet anyone have their but doesn't need it anymore because they relocated their spare, wanna send me theirs?

 

That spare tire lock key thing is super cheesy and you can break it right off and use the normal tool.

 

Does anyone know if spacers are worth it? Or are they just pieces of junk and a waste of weight?

How do you go about breaking it off?

 

Wheel spacers? Spacer lift? Throttle body spacers? Space ships? What kind of spacers?

So it only happens when its wet?

No issues. But id not go over 1.5'' spacers and I HIGHLY suggest running extended thread lug nuts to hold the spacers on.

Most use them to help clear different wheels.

 

And to add to this, I'd only run em if you need to. Like clearing wheels, or getting the tires off the frame. But I have wheeled the piss out of my spidertrax 1.25" and have no issues. I also use blue loctite on the studs.

And @Blackdawg I'd only go extended studs if you are going with something like a .25" spacer, no? Otherwise the wheel would hit the factory studs when you put the spacers on, right?

 

no, i ran ET lugs on all 4 corners for a long time. Still do on the rear. But im running 1.5'' spacers so..maybe on smaller spacers.

 

Et lugs and you'll be fine.

 

NVM read your post wrong, I read it as running extended studs not lug nuts.

 

Yep only after it rains or occasionally after a car wash... I hit the same driveway curb everyday at an angle with no noise. But the moment it rains or gets wet it makes that popping noise.
