So is it pretty certain that stock mud flaps will need to be removed with this size?

Maybe your caster is too aggressive. +3.3 is very high, although that SHOULD move you away from the cab mount. Usually I only see 3+ when someone is running massive tires

That's the thing, the tires aren't massive. They're 33", it's insane that 2 inches have basically turned my truck into a rubbing nightmare lol.

285/75/16 or bigger requires a cmc or you will get rubbing

Perhaps a little more offset would fix it. Those wheels are +30 offset, very little. maybe 4 runner wheels at +15 or beadlocks at +10 or sema wheels at +4 would help push it away from the UCA and cab mount.

Visually it looks like the super high caster is pushing the wheel too far forward in the wheel well, did it rip off the front air dam mud flap? You can see with the naked eye that +3.3 caster you need more lift .

Yeah, I was looking at wheels too, but at the same time if the spacers are essentially doing what wheels with more back space would do, it seems like I would still rub. No rub on plastic, just cab mount. Maybe i split the difference and get a thinner spacer?

255/85/16 is taller than 285/75/16, but not as wide. Me personally I'd do a cmc, and not worry about rubbing, and if I went bigger later on it wouldn't be an issue.

does anyone have pics of how they trimed the plastic coming off the fender flares? Thats where mine rub right now? Also, do sparies fit these tires alright? I want to move my km2's on some steelie/sparies and run my stock tires back on the stock rims.

I am unclear on why you're rubbing there, is any part of your suspension modified? I can promise you that I've wheeled my truck *plenty* since putting 255s on and haven't rubbed, as have others in this thread. A minor lift of any sort will potentially cause you issues, as I learned when putting 886s on in preparation for my front bumper.

Are you actually rubbing on the cab mount with the spacers? The wheels won't move towards the cab mount at any point so if you're clear of it lock to lock, it wont be an issue. You can see from my pictures that I was really close to it stock, and I never touched it.

When I lifted the front I had to use spacers to clear my factory UCAs and 1.25" spidertrax got me what I needed without any rubbing issues on the street. Granted, I haven't taken them wheeling yet, and there may be a trouble spot where I'll have to use a heat gun and remold the front of the fender lining.

That's more people in this thread than there are to count, and of those I know at least myself and @Sandytaco14 wheel our trucks and aren't exactly gentle on them, and we didn't have issues. As stated above, I'd love more information on your setup to see if we can figure out whats causing your issues.

Nah, the whole point of this thread/size is that you don't have to do a bunch of shit to fit 255s like you do 285s

I installed a minor <2" lift on my truck and I am putting the 255s on as soon as I get my .75" spacers. I'm thinking the spacers will alleviate any issue I may have with the UCA but I am not sure of the rest of the potential spots. Where were you having troubles with rubbing after you put in your springs?

I rubbed on the stock UCAs after the lift. I put 1.25 spidertrax on and solved it. I can't speak to any aftermarket UCAs.

There is a place in the front of the fender well that I may run into issues while wheeling, but I haven't touched it on-road yet. The problem spot is an easy enough fix, it's just all the black plastic shit in front of the tire, and I can just heat that up and mold it forward if I need to

will changing from stock tires to these km2s throw off your alignment that much. I had 2.5 caster with stock tires after putting the fox coilovers and UCAs on.

I mean its possible right? The bigger tires do move the suspension components around, so if you put your fox stuff on with the stock tire size, it could very well be different. Alignments are pretty cheap anyway, probably worth checking out. If you wheel your truck look into the Firestone lifetime alignment. You *should* get alignments after offroading (I never do lol), and it's only like $150 or something.

@Jibbs My understanding is there has to be something on this truck that is not stock. Correct?

Yeah thanks, I'll definitely get an alignment in the next few days. I don't mind chopping whatever to get it right. I just wanted to see some clean executions to follow. That little return flange on the fender flares that wraps into the wheel well is where i'm rubbing right now. And I saw a guys 285's on a 2nd gen where he'd trimmed that quite clean, didn't have my phone to get pics.
