Pretty sure a few have. There is this search thing where you can keep your results to a specific thread. That might help.

That search thing brings up lots of results for 3rd gen but have not seen any for 2nd gen.

This may be in this thread somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

I have an ARB and a 10k winch with synthetic line going one so I'm changing to 886's with 9000's (from 887/5100)

    I don't have a sway bar.

Are there any issues to be expected running the additional 1/4in top plate spacer with 886's/9000's and no sway(UCA's already replaced)?

My main concern is will this allow one side to droop to the point that it will cause a CV to bind and fail or will the shock reach it's limit before that happens?

You won't get that much drop. Good to go.

    Quick question...
I have OME Nitros up front.
The eyelet where the shock mounts to the LCA has worn and there is some play on the up & down. Noticed it last time I was in there checking torques, the bolt was a little loose and noticed the play. Pulled the bolt and noticed some irregular wear where the eyelet has obviously been making contact in it’s play...
My question is, can this eyelet be rebuilt?
Is there a solution to this other than replacing?

I'm looking at purchasing an ARB bumper with fog lights sans winch. I understand with this setup I'll need to upgrade my suspension to compensate for the added weight. I'm only looking at increasing the ride comfort with a slight lift as a byproduct. So I guess in total I'm looking for at max 2" lift. I'd rather avoid UCAs. The truck will be mainly used on gravel roads.

With this said, is the 90000's with 886 up front going to give me more than 2"s and requiring me to install aftermarket UCAs? Basically looking at the OMETAC05HKSB kit which states only 2" of lift from ARB, but I'm not sure I believe that. I'd rather buy once, cry once, than dick around with spring weights. Shipping to AK is expensive. I might also just say YOLO and purchase the BP-51's. Any input?

I have the 886/90000 setup, with admirations of a bumper at some point. ARB specifically designed the 886s to settle under the weight of their bumper. From what I’ve seen before, you’re gonna get ~2.5 inches of lift after it settles, and the ride actually gets better when you have weight up front with these coilovers too.

So with about 150 lbs from a bumper alone I'll sit probably higher at (pulling number out of my ass) around 2.5-2.75" with 886? That brings me into upgraded UCA territory huh?

    Thanks.

Not necessarily. That's the territory of maybe you will, maybe you wont. An alignment will be one way to find out.

This is the exact same setup I am running with the hd Darkars in the rear, I have put about 350 miles on it and so far no problems. The ride is more firm but not bad at all. I also removed the sway bar and really can't tell much if any difference. I replaced the UCAs with lr spc.

it depends I have a ARB bumper no winch and got the 886 coil and it sat 3.5 inch and wouldn't go down at all. luckily we have a ARB HQ here in WA in auburn and I explained to them about how my front is sitting too high after trying to break it in. and the guy I talked to saw my truck was like that's weird?? so I swapped out with 885 for free since it was in the 90 days I got it installed. the 885 is a lot lighter up front so I have more somewhat bounce I guess since its heavy up front. but I think if you have a winch and bumper then 886 would be a better bet but even the guy at ARB showed me his coworkers 1st gen tundra with winch and front bumper and he put 885 cause his 886 was too stiff and wasn't settling. right now with my bumper and 885 with 9000 shocks its sitting 2.5 so far like it except small squeaking when slowly going over speed bumps

I am getting a clank from my newly installed on a 2003 double cab 4x4 Tacoma with
ARB-OMETAC04HKS-ASM-2TP '98-2004 Toyota Tacoma Old Man Emu Suspension Kit, Heavy Load with Nitrocharger Sport Rear Shocks

Here is a video where the clank happens serveral times. Im not sure where it is coming from but I suspect it is the shackles or the front leaf mount point. I plan on retorquing everything to make sure all attchment points fall in ft lb spec. Any other advice/recomendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the update after install.

I also have the LR UCA's. I only have a 1.5in wheelers single AAL in the rear though. I'm still on the fence on whether to go 886/9000's only or to add the 1/4 spacers.

From what I gather the 1/4 spacers aren't going to be a problem for the mechanical limits of the CV axles. (I had a 1/4spacer on my L side only to compensate for lean with 887's/5100's that caused some problems which is why I was leery about adding spacers to a coil that already provides some lift)

Now it's just a matter of it will the truck sit right. i.e. too much rake or get into bro-lean territory w/ spacers and 886s.

If I remember correctly I am almost 2" taller in the rear measuring the center of the hub to the fender but just looking at it being a long wheelbase you don't really notice it. One of the reasons I went with the 1/4" spacers was to minimize rake, also I have the trim packer on the drivers side and each side measures the same but it seems like all trucks are different. If you haven't already get ahold of Marie at Headstrongoffroad and she will point you in the right direction they helped me out and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Getting My full OME kit from Headstrong tomorrow! Lift day is in a week. Got the 887s with the heavy shock, light Dakars, SPC UCA's, ARB bumper "classic" style and XRC winch with synthetic line ready to rock. Ive got a raider truck cap on my access cab taco, if I add a plate rear bumper will I need to add another leaf to my Dakars?

Will update with pics post lift!!!
