I think Valvoline just introduced a new 0w-20. Saw it at Walmart for $20.

I purchased 6 jugs at Walmart last summer for $22.xx Last month I picked up 5 jugs for $24.xx. Looks like price is jumping.

One good thing about Amazon is you might not get charged tax unlike Walmart.

I got charged for tax here. Between Amazon and Walmart, you always got to keep an eye on the price.

I am adding both 15w-50 and 0w-20 to my camelcamelcamel.com watchlist.

Hopefully it drops in price again next time I purchase. Will check Walmart/Amazon and might entertain buying the Valvoline next time as well.

It says right on Mobil 1 Website that you need to make sure you follow the Manufactures recommnded Oil Change Interval while you are under warranty, so paying extra for extended drain oil you still have to change at 10k is a waste.

I know M1 is a pretty reputable brand, but has anybody had any experience with other brands whether they are more pricy or not?

The only other oil I've used in the past bunch of years is Rotella T6 5w-40 which is a diesel engine oil. Looking at the oil change section of the Service Manual, it also lists 15w-40 as an option. The Owners Manual doesn't say that.

Rotella is great stuff! I used to use it in my subaru and it would last ages longer than mobil1 (that subaru DRANK oil)

I haven't looked in a few years, but T6 had a bigger additive package with a lot of zinc. I used in our turbo cars and my motorcycles.

In the bikes I did have two con rod bearing failures. One was a factory flaw in the roller bearing cage (non-split rods / pressed crank) among other build issues with that motor. The other was a Ducati with 83k on it. Pretty high mileage for one of those engines, also 4k miles earlier I had a timing belt snap on the same cylinder as the bad rod bearing. The only damage there was lightly bent intake valves.

I couldn't directly blame the oil for the failures, but afterward, it felt like I should change something. Ha!

Costco has a case of this (6 1quart bottles) for the same price until March 4th. In store or online and I believe the shipping is free. I bought 3 cases

Good point ... I change my oil at 5K with Toyota oil... overpriced but free at the dealer!

    Thats right... free! boom!

I'm at 30K miles... already did my diff's and tranny (manual) didn't do the transfer case yet so thats next. My next oil change is on me. I bought a case of the Toyota oil on Epay last year for $45.. that was a good deal.

I'll do it myself and do the transfer case... gonna be a pain ... will have to remove skid plate and install a fumoto valve.... My skid is 1/4 steel plate, not the mamby pamby pro plate.
