TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Dang. Was getting a good bit of friction between the filter and core.

 

Yeah that was after about 3months and when I saw it I knew I had to change something. Out of my 3 transactions with urd, I have had issues with either the product, or support for all of them

 

That's too bad. So far URD has treated me fine.

 

Pretty sure all i did was flip that bracket upside down.... the 1 nearest the filter.
I just woke up and am a bit groggy tho

I assume all of you cut 1.5-2” from the TB connection also

 

I did not cut any of the tubing at all.
Prolly woulda been easier.
I cant recall what for sure, but i think i had to alter the cutting template a little.

 

Yes, about 2". You have some adjustment with the couplers. You could just set your stock manifold on top of the sc when you get it off to see exactly how much the sc moves the tb over but just cutting 2" is fine.
For the front bracket I just bent a flat 2"x4" piece of sheet metal into a 90 degree and drilled two holes. One where it mounts to the body and the other to the intake.
I get where you are coming from and want to have every avenue covered prior to install but there is really no need to over think some of this stuff.
I did the crank pulley a couple weeks before doing the sc install as that in itself has given people fits. I didn't want the truck all apart and not be able to finish the install in case I had a hard time getting the crank pulley bolt off.

Works great. No real improvement so to speak as I don't red line the truck daily but I won't have to worry about slipping belts and boost loss.

 

What screws are those? My were allen head, and I lost one

 

Stainless Phillips screws I got at the local hardware store. I don't remember the size offhand, I just took one with me and matched it up.

I saw you on the other Supercharger thread yesterday. Where have you been all this time? We have to all stick together.

 

What does “boost referencing“ your fuel injectors do?

 

Honestly didn’t even know this was here lol

 

It means hooking your fuel pressure regulator line to the sc boost port instead of the intake. Then your fuel pressure will adjust according to boost/vaccuum.

 

And that improves power? Or throttle response? Or something else?
