    Need some opinions guys.

Trying to get some ideas together about my trailer. Can’t decide which to go with.

Should I go tent over everything and use my rack to hold tent up and put kayaks underneath?

    Like this?

Pros: Kayaks won’t interfere with tent opening

Cons: Kayaks would interfere with storage in body of trailer, might hit tailgate in a turn if kayak is too long, tent would be just as high as it is now

Or should I go tent a couple feet above body of trailer to allow for storage in trailer and build two taller cross bars to put kayaks over tent?

    Like this?

Pros: Kayaks won’t hit truck, plenty of access to trailer for storage, tent would be closer to ground

Cons: Kayaks would have to be taken off every time the tent is used

I think either way that kayak is too long for the trailer. I'd go option 3 and get a cap, and put the kayak on top of the truck.

Doing a little work on @twheat40 4Runner this afternoon. He scored a full, lightly used OME set up for $550 shipped. Talk about a win. Man it’s nice working on new trucks.

3rd option get Eddy to build some J-hooks to hold the yak by the side and mount them to the side of the trailer then tent on the rack so that you can access the stuff in the trailer and the tent and the yak can stay on the trailer the whole time.

I think it should be $20k.

Cap is definitely on the list of things I’m getting. Just want to get the RTT from being so high. Don’t mind putting the kayaks on the roof of the shell at all. Might just make the trailer specifically for the tent and just sell my voodoo rack. Then I could get those j-hooks mounted on the sides and for hauling when I go camping and use a shell rack to haul them to and from the boat ramp/launch area when I’m just staying local.

They have a brand new one in Montvale NJ where I work. It’s a nice place to run out to for a quick, inexpensive lunch.
