(SOLD OUT) Discounted Price on TRD Pro Suspension Kit

I agree. I also bought new springs(general spring hd) hope to get about the same amount of lift out of them. I figured if they don’t lift enough I could always add an aal. I’ve had 3 Tacoma’s and have never been happy with the stock springs. How much did you gain in the rear?

 

So you mentioned you wanted a full new suspension but it appears the ride is a little worse than stock. Did you keep all the leaves in or remove the 3rd leaf? Now that I've seen yours I'm ok with a rake from a full leaf pack but definitely don't want to make my ride worse. Any thoughts on what you would change to improve the ride?

 

I'm looking for some opinions on my leaf pack.

I have the Wheelers 5 leaf HD. I got 2 inches of lift up front from the Pro kit and one inch from the 5 leaf in the back. I have a 400# constant load. My rake is currently about 1 inch. I just loaded the truck up with my normal camping set up and a full tank of gas. I'm dead level on the passenger's side and about 1/4 inch negative rake on the driver's side. I contacted Wheeler's and they have extra leaves (or is it leafs?) for $75.

I don't daily drive my truck. My inclination is to add the leaf to support and prolong the life the existing pack while getting nearer the factory rake. The only mitigation is that Wheelers can't tell me the results of adding 1 leaf to my setup. Decisions, decisions...

 

Are your leafs new? Your front suspension will probably settle 1/4-1/2 in the next few months. If your leafs are new, just add another leaf.

 

the leaf pack is brand new and installed the same time I installed the Pro kit. It's been on a couple weeks, but I've only driven it once. About 120 miles or so round trip.

I had the wheelers 5 leaf on my last 1st. Gen. It did settle a little but not much if that helps. I’d say only about 1/2 inch. Put 100,000 miles on them too.

 

Well, the Dakar’s handle more load, which I needed, but that is a big contributing factor. Keep in mind this is just on-pavement since I just finished it last night. With the Dakar’s you can remove the 3rd leaf down for a softer ride, all my leaves are in.

 

Definitely helped. I’m looking for the same results you got. Any driveline vibe from going so high in the rear?

 

Should I be concerned that my shocks have the TRD logo cut out? It looks like someone took an Xacto knife to it.

 

How you like the ride of the HS AAL? I got a bead on a set of takeoff leafs, 2018 i believe. Thinking going that route and HS AAL now.

I wouldn’t be. Probably a lot of scandalous stuff going on with all the money to be made off all these kits that are being sold. If you got it from a dealer, I would ask them about it.

 

Whats your hub to fender out back? Worried at all about running out of length on the shock?

 

Just wanted to let you be aware. Those suspension kits on Ebay maybe the baja kit. A lot of people in the other thread were ordering em and getting the baja edition. It just has a higher spring rate so its rougher/firmer ride than the pros.

 

Thats what it is. Part #'s confirm that. But why go through the trouble? Baja would still be a steal at $600

That's what i got. Just weird they cut out the TRD.

 

Just depends on the people and what they would be using it for. Something like a baja kit when I am overlanding would kill my back after a while with the rougher rides. The softer ride of the pros are ideal for the weight of my vehicle in the conditions I drive in.

 

I figured. You still might contact the seller and ask for a discount since they altered the product. Sellers are very quick to make the buyer happy. They don’t want any negative feedback.
