I guess I'll do an update:

Finished up getting the battery relocated to the back seat. It even starts.
    IMG_5670.jpg

I then finally got some new tires Falken MT. 35s yea but couldn't get some 37s fast enough and mine were BALD.

    IMG_5673.jpg

Got some actual bump stops that actually work.....
    IMG_5671.jpg

Also, took the bed off and redid the rear crossmember with tail lights in it.

    IMG_5672.jpg

I left a short piece of "bed" on to hold my gas tank until a custom fuel cell from Motobilt arrives. Super stoked for that. At that point the flatbed can be finished up.

FYI if anyone wants to switch to trailer tail lights in the future it takes a load resistor for each flasher as well as diodes on the stop/turn wires.

Also, spoke with Bobby at motobilt and this thing will be shipping my way soon.

howd you do the frame cap where the bed bolts are? did you notch around them or is yours just a plate between the two frame sides?

i have the trail gear setup but its an actual box so i was thinking about notching around to slide it flush with the frame end

So my frame was cut before the rear most bed bolts. That rectangle tube was cut to fit perfectly between the rear shackle outriggers. Kind of a pain cause the frame dovetails at that point.

How’s the trail gear setup? Been considering it.

its not bad if i ever get around to installing it, lol.

thick main tube with the receiver, and chain hook gussets. basic kit stuff. just needs cut down to fit between the rails which is easy enough. it doesnt have shackle spots though like you have on yours either, but i have one that goes in the hitch anyways

I’m curious to see how it looks. Yea I opted not to do d-ring shackle hooks on this time. I have a hitch recovery point anyway.

You have any updates on this thing? I don't think I have seen too many trucks running no bumpers. Was your previous rear "bumper" just something you whipped up and welded to the back of the frame? I'm digging the bed.

Was this truck ever your daily?

    Truck is still my daily.

Thanks, yea the rear was just a crossmember we welded up. Currently building up a front axle for it.

Nice. I've considered making my own bumpers, I like the simplicity of yours. Pretty creative. Extra high clearance!
