That’s not on a scale. But it is encouraging.

    1.

If it takes you more than 15 minutes you're doing it wrong.

Loosen the nut that holds the pulley on. Then loosen the bolt that tensions the belt. A ratcheting box end wrench is perfect here. IIRC it's a twelve. Remove the nut, remove the pulley, then put it back together.

It could be your PS pump/fluid too. Mine squeals at full lock only, or did.

Is there a way to make sure this is the problem? I'd hate to throw parts and money at it and not fix it.

It's one tensioner bolt and one bolt holding the pulley, making a video is harder than changing the pulley.

That pulley sits low on the engine and is the first to fail. I'm surprised you've never changed it before with all the time you spend offroad. My last one made it like a year. Never had any issues with the accessory belts besides that pulley, which I've changed like 4 times.

I dunno what youre talking about... I've put 70k on my truck and never left the pavement.
Pretty positive I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be.

I just went out and look, all the lower pulleys look like a pain to get to from under the hood.

You can reach in past your skids on the underside and change it

CV joint at the front of the shaft. When i had my bronco that was lifted and had an extreme angle i was eating drive shafts and it was always the CV going out. on the last one the Cv was going out and it sounded like a helicopter and it ended up sheering the aluminum transfer case housing

Is it the lowest, littlest pulley/wheel? Cause I just went and looked again and it has play in it. I dont need to do anything with the belt do I?

There's a couple pictures in this link. I already had it pulled up because I need the part number. Mine squeaks on first start when wet and squeals a little when wet too. I bet my problem is this pulley too. I think it's the original at 246k miles, and those weren't all the easiest of miles...

It doesn't self tension, have to tension all the belts yourself.

mine doesn't sound like that yet, and its constant, no matter how warm the engine is. I'm gonna change that lower pulley I guess and see if that fixes it.
