(SOLD OUT) Discounted Price on TRD Pro Suspension Kit

Just with the added weight of my bumper and winch, with the 5100's. It's more my fault, loading up the spring. They're good otherwise, imagine great with ome coils

 

What's suspect?

 

Has anyone ran 265/70/16 or 265/70/17 on the suspension? I've just received mine yesterday and I'm looking on Craigslist at a few factory wheel/tire combos. One is a trd OR 3rd gen set and the other is the 4runner trd OR 5th gen.I feel like the tacos 265/70/16 will not fill the wheelwells enough but the 4runner uses the Bridgestone H/T not exactly the tread type I want. Both are about $650. Just looking for opinions. Thanks!

 

My current setup is 265\70r17 Duratracs. I'm at the same height now with my current setup. Tires fill the wells fine.

 

I’m thinking he got defected kits. Companies get rid of their brand from the product when it’s defected prior to throwing em out.

The kits were valves/tuned by TRD, if it didn’t meet their expectations, they cut their name out and with sell it for real cheap or throw it away.

 

Dumb question, has anyone installed only the frontparts first, and waited to do the rear? If so, was it very noticeable? I haven't decided what to do with the rear., but want to at least knock out the front.

Did it come in the factory box with the factory part number on it? Does the part number on the box match the pro kit or the baja kit? The part number PTR13-35120 is for the Baja kit because I've researched it and I'm in a similar situation. I ordered it thinking it was the pro kit and they were nice enough to call me and tell me they messed up it was the Baja kit instead. The told me they would refund my money or give it to me at the price I had already paid. I didn't care for $550 it was a steal and I couldn't pass it up. The cheapest Baja kit I found was just under $1400. I'm going to see how it rides with the 650lb springs and if it's bad I may just remove the sway bar to soften it up a bit.

I’m probably going to tell them to just refund my money so there will be one set available today. Something seems fishy to me. The way they spoke in their correspondence with the member here and the TRD being removed off the shock did it for me

 

@kc1aei had a great idea. Call Bilstein and reference the batch number stamped on the shocks and see if that comes up with anything. Potentially a bad batch or one that didn't pass QA.

 

My order is cancelled, call em up if you want a kit. Might be Baja, might be ones that didn’t pass quality, might be refurbished, might be legit. Who knows? That’s why I cancelled my order

 

did that eBay seller callout the actual TRD part number of the suspension kit? If he did and didn’t provide it to you in the TRD box with that top level part number, you might be able to start and challenge an ‘item not as described’ case with eBay with him if he’s unwilling to resolve.

 

They just emailed me a copy of the refund request. They cancelled the order with no problem. Just seemed really weird to me. It might be a good deal. At this point I’ll just take my money back. Better safe then sorry for me. Wasn’t going to take a chance on them. Now it’s time to buy retrofit headlights

 

Probably a good idea. I wouldn’t take the chance either. There is some sketchy venders on eBay.

 

I think they are on here and saw the hype for the Pro kits, so cut the labels off the boxes and tried to pass them off as Pro's. I saw them listed as Pro's as well, but immediately knew they were Baja's, being disassembled. They knew what they had, the Baja part # was left on the shocks, per Navy's pic. Doesnt take a genius to do a quick part lookup to see what you have.

This is all dumb by them, they could have easily sold them as Baja's as well, made just as much, and not damaged their reputation. Trying to decieve people is a very dumb business move these days, they way news travels via the interwebs . Did it for me, i'll be sure not to purchase from them, not worth the risk of getting ripped off.

Or it could all be shit and they're doing something even more deceiving, like selling refurbs. But my guess is they are fine and new and they were just trying to pass them off as Pro's, to feed/capitalize on the fervor they already saw on here. You know they are readying all this anyway, as they have stated.

I already have a 2015 TRD PRO.....just curious what everything thinks about how long these shocks will last??.....I don't off road just a mall crawler......actually it's my daily driver.

 

I asked the same thing somewhere else. Someone said they had like 90 or 100k and were still good. Somewhere in there

 

Like anything Else the lifespan would vary, but I should think a quality shock like this would easily be good for 5 years/60 000 miles before they started to leak.
