So... ya... I'll be doing the timing belt water heater radiator etc this weekend (if I can get the parts that fast).

Over heated on 99... waiting for a tow truck at Tractor Supply in Ripon :frusty:

Think I cracked the radiator :censored:

How long ago did you get that tent?

Was it a couple garage sales ago?

Post back up here if your waiting to long for the tow truck. I had a co worker wait 4.5 hours for AAA but that was in Sacramento area.

It over heated on 99. By the time I could get to the exit, it shut off on me. I sat at the top of the exit at Jack Tone South offramp for a few minutes and let it cool. I cranked over so I just let it run long enough to get moving down the hill, shut it off in neutral and coasted in to the parking lot.

When I got it running, it was not knocking or anything crazy. I think the sensors saved everything expensive.

I made it home... now I'm waiting for the truck to get here.

14 years owning this truck... never been on a tow truck.

*** Edit... truck is here. Dropped off in the driveway. Turned it on to back up the driveway. No check engine light, no rough idle, no wierd noises... I think we're good.

Have not checked the oil, too dark to mess with it now, and I was too nervous and pissed to do it earlier... didn't want to find coolant in there... I don't think I will though.

I got it mid-Feb at the Dublin REI, wasn’t planning on it as it’s a small tent, but someone bought it at the garage sale and returned it. They had it in the back when I went in and I got a $1099 tent for $300.

I know I’m bummed, we need it but I’m not set up for snow camping.

I don't think it's going to be too bad. I think I'd have signs if there was anything major bad wrong. I've been planning on doing the waterpump, timing belt, radiator etc... the truck has run warm for the entire 14 years I've had it, but last hunting season it started running a little hotter. So... I was planning on replacing most of the coolant system before summer... just wasn't planning on doing it THIS WEEKEND lol.

I bought the kit on Ebay from Aircabinman. The ones on Amazon (that I saw) were a mix of OEM and non-OEM. Aircabinman is 100% OEM.

And let me just tell you... I HIGHLY recommend that dude. I messaged him (through Ebay) to ask if he could overnight (while I was waiting for the tow truck). He messaged me back in less than 30 minutes. He said he doesn't overnight anymore because USPS kept not delivering on time. But he said he would process the order AS SOON as he got it and it should be to me by Saturday anyway.

Saturday is fine with me. Gives me a couple of days to disassemble everything. This one is going to be one that I'm gunna say "Fuck it... I'm in WAY over my head here, but I'll figure it out one way or the other."

I might be callin you on this one. I've never done anything quite this in depth before.

I already got the seal puller and harmonic balancer tool... I think I have everything I need... but I'm not gunna lie, this one has me nervous.

I’ve done plenty along the lines of this
I had to do the head gasket on my 1st car after I blew in driving back from LA
Got it back on the road in time to make it to school Monday
