I truly believe that stupid questions are a real thing, but I wouldn't count this as one.

Are you talking about seeing the odo but not the trip distances, or both at the same time?

Just quick push the multifunction dimmer / reset post in the cluster. It will cycle through the two trip meters, odo, and blank.

You cannot see both the trip meter and odo at the same time.

Main point right here. I have mine set to odo rather than trip 99% of the time.

Ah. I'm opposite. I have the trip up most of the time. I usually only need the odo when logging the MPGs while filling up. So it being displayed when the door is opened works great for me.

It would be cool if there were a few more functions in the center display options. I sort of remember the 2015? Camry that I had as a rental for a few weeks had some more options?

If I ran a business, and I bought a $36,000 mechanical device, the first thing I'd do is have my employees read the manual...

    Just saying.

I'd respectfully say: easy there. The OM by itself is 640 pages that doesn't clearly break out the very significant differences in each model, not to mention the three other large supplements that come with it. In this day and age, I'd be easy and friggin' nice if the PDF version at least was model specific and bookmarked. I honestly like reading manuals, but . . .

IMVHO on a $36k item, multifunction inputs should either be labeled more clearly or not be multifunction. Just look at all the discussion about the TRAC Off button and all that it does.

Yeah I was wondering about that track off btn.... my brakes were acting funny after using it on road @ 40mph.... then I looked it up .. opppsie!

Bro... if I was an employee and you asked me to read a 640 page manual... woah nice and getting paid for reading it! Woohoo "I'll see you next week then, bye bye"

    State of confusion, aka Flori-duh
    Vehicle:
    2017 Silver Sky 2x4 Limited
AMP Powerstep, UC Flex, bed lights, Opt7 Tailgate bar, black tailgate lettering Pending: re-configure tail light,s custom storage pocket bags, pinch weld painting, blackout badges, ......
Adding to the confusion is the fact that Toyota has what seems to be the same center display in most (if not all) of the vehicles they make BUT the information display and options differ from one to another.

Seems like a very strange place to spend time and money differentiating one model from another. A single set of displays and screen options for all would be far cheaper and easier to program, if the vehicle does not have X then the screen for X is just not shown. Much like the incline meter is not seen in the 4x2 Limited but all other screens are the same for all models with the screen all the way to the Pro.

    Examples:
My wife has a 2018 Rav4. It does not display the trip summary when turning off the vehicle. It does however have a trip summary screen that can be displayed while driving. The clock on the infotainment center is displayed on all screens including the home screen, however the Taco does not show the clock on home screen unless it is an added "tile". Additionally, many of the screen options are drastically different from my 2017 Taco.

I had a 2018 Camry rental while my truck was in for service, it also had oddly different options for it's display. Several of the same options as the Taco and the Rav but arranged differently. It had Entune 3 which really did not impress me.

Another service put me in a Highlander. It showed the set point of the cruise when engaged. I really liked that.

Hopefully, Toyota will unify the screen display in future models.

Another perfect example of the unneeded confusion. I think only the ORs / Pros have the incline meter? My Sport does not.

It sounds like I was right about that Camry then. I just can't remember what the function was that I liked.

Yes, it does have the incline/pitch/yaw/whatever gauges. It's not like the old days where you had the odo, and trip meter, then the radio on/off button....and that was it. Now, it's a big cluster of buttons and options, which 90% of I don't even use. It can be confusing to some, and like you said, 640 pgs of manual is not something everyone wants to read.

Some people need to get off their high-horse with this "read your manual" stuff, acting like that Haavaaaad dork in Good Will Hunting. Just move on--no one asked for your snide comments. Howya like dem apples!

The dumbest post's on any forum is when someone chimes in to tell someone to read the owners manual. If it bothers you they asked the question, move along. It's not helpful.

Wait wait wait... I would put "Bro, do 285's fit on stock suspension?" up there close to a dumb question... just sayin. It's not in the manual... I don't think cause I never read it.

Same rule applies. If it pisses you off, just skip past it.

This forum could be like most of the vehicle forum's I've seen. Ask a question, then crickets for days. Never a helpful post. It's a side effect of so many users. And most are super helpful.
