I'm on my third set of Falken MT01's and I haven't had a single tire fail on me. I've literally beat the shit out of them! Zero flats or sidewall punctures and I've taken them all over the place!

Anyways, figured I'd toss Falken into the arena!:hattip:

3 sets? How many miles are you getting out of them? Or is it that they chunk to the point of needing to be replaced?

The tires have all had a lot of driving miles left in them when I've changed them out. More so worn down sidewalls and basically the tires just being beat.

At some point, you just start to question what the failing point is, and if you're like me, you don't want to experience a failure in a really shitty situation.:notsure:

For an MT the tread depth seems a bit... I dunno. Looks like it's inspired by BFG's AT in the middle and something like a Toyo MT on the shoulders.

^ Makes sense. I know that tire has a fairly soft compound, great for grip but poor for wear.

True. I really want them to cover it under a safety recall. A horn going out because of a cable failing seems like a recall-able thing... If you ask me. And if you look around here it seems to not be very rare.

I know.. I'm very skeptical of this tire. I don't think I'll actually pull the trigger on these. Probably going with the hankook MTs.

Yeah, I've heard good things about them. They are heavy. 79 pounds a tire. the other tires I have been looking at are around 65.

    Ditto.

I love my current tires, but they were expensive. May go with them again, maybe try the at3w, or st maxx, or say fuck it and do an MT. From what I've read those falken mt tires are excellent, but wear quickly which is the only thing deterring me from them.

Yeah I always like to see a tire with a lot of exposure... And while a cool gesture isn't going through the possible pain of tire replacement in 30 days a PITA?

Yeah I've been happy with the Nitto Trail Grapplers. Loud as hell. Heavy as hell. But they have done well on the trail where I've had them. I've noticed though they're a true E-rated. Even at 15psi there was hardly any sidewall flex. So I will probably go even lower next time.

There are a lot of favorites when it comes to tires.

All I know is that the Falkens come through for me where it matters most, they're tough and have lots of traction. Everything else comes second for me.:notsure:

Call the dealership and ask. Also did you receive in the mail the Toyota customer support program notification”Air Injection Pumps and/or Air Switching Valves”?

My 12 is fine but some piece of mind for you is it’s covered at no cost 10yr’s from date of first use or 150k miles.

The KM2's are definitely solid tires. Not a lot of bad can be said about BFG!
