That's my thoughts too. Call me greedy but flipping things for a profit is the foundation of a market economy. If I can move something along and make a hundred and save the buyer a hundred that's a win win.

Yea I have no problem with that. I believe he wasnt asking for anything excessive problably a hundred bucks more. And thats if he even got them for the 650 some people were able to get, some people on here got them for up to 900 bucks since they were getting scarce. Now that guy from Rogue I believe, he openly said he had more than 30 sets and was asking for 800 or 900 bucks at some point. Thats just being greedy. This other seller just happened to buy one and then decide he didnt want it anymore.

I'm right there with you. If the mark-up is too steep, then the product won't move. If they wanted it cheap, they should've got on it earlier. Just my opinion.

I don't care either way. Making money is fine. I was just pointing out the obvious that you are going to see, as with anything like this. More power to them that want to pay more and to those that want to scalp them. Hell, i would probably have considered buying one if i missed out, a little anyway :boink:

Rogue is a business. If people are willing to pay $800, he should be selling them for $800. That price is still 1/2 of msrp. According to this thread they still all sold, didn't they? :notsure:

I agree, it is a business. At the end, if you're willing to pay, thats on you. But the MSRP also went down to $684. So no, no it wasnt half of MSRP.

If anybody should get the pitchforks pointed at them, it’s Toyota. They’re still making some margin with the new MSRP at $684, which means the $1800 price was over 1100 markup.

I just hope that if anybody bought one of these kits shortly before the price drop, they never find this thread...

Imho also pitchforks pointed at Toyota for discontinuing the kit after 3 years. They sell a 'halo' TRD Pro Tacoma where the main selling point is the suspension for a hefty markup and then discontinue said suspension after 3 years? Most of the TRD Pro owners probably did not even reach enough mileage for their shocks to wear out yet and now all replacement sets are gone. When they reach 80-100k they have a lower end TRD Sport/OR set to choose from, including loosing their lift or they have to go aftermarket. I thought there were laws specifying how long manufacturers have to supply parts for their vehicles. Thought it was more than 3-4 years.

If it were me, I'd be screaming "equal or greater value" if I were in that situation. They could probably placate me with a new Fox Pro suspension...

If you read the thread you would see that the parts are still available from toyota, just not combined as a "kit" so you can replace 1 at a time...

If they have healthy supply and can get replacements after say VIN check for existing Pro owners, I guess that is fair. If that was mentioned somewhere in the thread I missed it.

I read the entire thread, but didn't commit it to memory. Good to know that there are parts out there in case. Thanks for the info.

Had mine installed Tuesday along with an ICON AAL.
What an improvement in ride quality and dampening!
With my SSo Bumper, Winch, Sliders, and Cap, my stock OR suspension was really suffering.
Prior to installation up front I was sitting at 34.3/4” and 34.7/8” .
    Now I’m at 36” and 36.1/8”
Out back I was previously running Hellwig Helper springs and was sitting at approxamently 36”
We removed the Hellwig springs, the stock overload springs and installed the AAL and now I am sitting at 37”
The Hellwig springs were giving me about a half inch lift over stock.

(Edit: After three days of driving and some settling.

MSRP was at 1,800... MSRP doesn’t change lol. The sale/asking/listing price does. MSRP is Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price. Listing price is what the market is currently selling it for. Asking price/sale price is what the vendor wants.

I was tracking this suspension kit for awhile cause I was on the fence, but Rogue had theirs listed as 600 at first. After a few days it went up to 650(this is when they had 30) Then 690 (this is when I jumped in cause a lot of places were cancelling orders and they had 20), and then 800 when they were the one of few left (they only had 15 when this happened).

From my perspective as an investor/business major; they had fair prices that correlated to the market demand and supply. Now guess what; those that tried to cheap out don’t have one cause they didn’t research properly on who has what and their inventory levels (I also ordered with OEMPARTSWORLD, but they cancelled my order and rogue was my back up order since I knew they had it in stock).
