I put a pro grill on my TRD Sport, about as poser as you can get considering that it also has a good scoop like the pro. Do what you like.

    OP,

I ordered mine off eBay, took a little over a week to arrive. I have an SR5, fit up pretty well. My grill arrived with two broken tab, but the seller refunded me money to buy epoxy and patch it up. There are quite a few tabs, so the two epoxied ones I'm not too concerned about. It fit the factory white trim ok, I thought it could have been better. Never seen a real Pro grill to compare to though. All in all, for the money it is worth it. I too did not like the factory grill, and simply could not justify ~$400+ for the real thing. If your wallet has trouble staying shut, then I'd say spring for the real thing. But its already thin like mine was, this aftermarket one is a good alternative.

See I can't even get the lingo ride right I care so little.

I do like a like a lot of the pro things. The fog lights have been high up on the want list, I am just one that doesn't like to speed money, but the grill had to go.

No it isn't. All TRD means is "Toyota Racing Development". TRD trucks are just SR5s that come with some accessories from the factory.

There is no ethereal divide between trucks that have TRD decals and trucks that don't. If you want to go TRD everything that's valid and if you want to just get TRD rims or a grille or a shift knob that's valid too.

This isn't like AMG Mercedes or Shelby Mustangs that are fundamentally different from their regular counterparts. TRD tacos and SR/SR5s are basically the same mechanically.

On another note I persobally feel the SR5 grille suites the truck best. I think the lettering is too dark and too bug to look properly retro.

This is beautiful. I have a white 2017 SR5 as well, putting my Pro Grille on this weekend.
One thing that bugs me on my truck and I also noticed on yours: The front license plate drill holes. Truck looks way better with the plate off, but those 2 screw holes drive me nuts. Anyone have a good way to plug them that doesn't look stupid?

Do what you want OP! Everyone's doing it, and is one of the things I'm definitely doing on my SR5. But the SR5 grille is growing on me. Lol

Haha I had the same feeling about putting on a lo-pro front bumper from @SouthernStyleOffRoad when I don’t Offroad at all, don’t have a 4x4 and will probably never use the winch that will go along with it. Then decided who gives a damn, my truck... my money.
