Alright TW peeps, I need a education!

So, I have talked about my brother, basically a homeless vet (by choice.... or just bad choices). A year ago he bought a 1972 27' POS trailer. No one could talk him out of it. Well, he has finally comes to terms that that wasn't a good choice, and it will never be livable. Now he has decided he would rather just have a cab over camper, since he doesn't have a motorcycle taking up room anymore. Seeing I am holding funds for him, from the motorcycle sale (to me)... a sign that he is trying to get some financial security... he asked me to help him find a cab over camper.

I know nothing about CO campers. He has a 2011 (I think) F150, stock, with a 5.5' bed. His only requirements is that it fits his truck and doesn't leak (A major improvement over his trailer). Oh, and it has to be $2k or less. His funds are really limited, so if it will require airbags, that has to come off the available funds to buy.

He thinks he has more handyman skills than he really does.

I’ll get the info from him.

He drives everywhere, it’s him and his service dog living out of his truck/trailer. Ultimately, he wants to just travel all over with it. As he is 100% medically disabled (mental not physical).

    Appreciate the help.

Unfortunately common sense doesn’t work with him very well. Not dissing on my brother, just fact.

A flippac would be something I would look at. Not him. This will be his home, his refuge. His means to get supplies, make doctor appointments, visit his kids, stay dry and feel secure in.

Now, as family I want to help him figure out how to do it right, or at least not waste what little money he has.

I fired airbags will be required. Artificial floor. We are getting somewhere.

Budget is the issue, we have been looking at travel trailers at Tom's Camperland. As a result, my Son wanted to look at CO Campers. There are some really nice units out there, they just cost a lot more than 2K.

Aw come on it's not that bad. :p

The real problem is that the Supra (and Celica) of the era of the Castrol/Tom's livery was all swoopy bulging lines which works with large, smooth curves. 3rd gen Tacoma is all aggressive angles, just deburred enough that it won't cut you to handle.

Which is why the more classic "3 Lines" Livery really is a better match for 3rd gens. I'm just not sure of how to treat the TRD logos vs just a plain Toyota or a TEQ or what...

So is it bad that I am looking at a 3rd gen 4runner to daily when I do my axle swap on the taco? Was thinking that I could move some parts over also.
