Doesnt mean the shock isnt bad. I wouldnt do much over 100k with light use on a shock. Ignorance is bliss and thats exactly what a shock degradation is... you dont notice how bad it is because it degrades at such a slow rate, put new ones on and you go wow thats nice!

I had always planned on lifting the truck when it was time to replace shocks. I haven’t noticed any degradation in 7 years/80k miles, but it’s certainly not a bad time for me to take care of it. This was a perfect opportunity to replace shocks and get a little lift at the same time.

I’m in the same boat. My truck rides great at 95k. I just couldn’t pass up the deal.

    ^ This!

Replaced my 200k km (125k miles) original Sport shocks with a new set and the difference in ride quality was night and day. I will never wait that long to replace with a fresh set.

So I've read through a lot of this thread and still haven't really found a solid answer. With this kit will I need any extended brake lines or different bump stops? I plan on adding a 1.5" progressive AAL. Is anything else necessary?

If you have the PRO kit then you don't need different bump stops unless you want to actually get the full amount of travel out of them, which the stock bump stops will limit. The BAJA kit comes with a bit shorter bump stops, giving you more travel. The PRO kit also comes with a break line spacer so you shouldn't need extended brake lines. Hope that helps

You don’t need extended brake lines.I chose to replace my front bumpstops with Wheelers Offroad”Superbumps”and will eventually change the rear to the same once i add a AAL or preferably will be a new leaf pack.

shocks last anywhere from 50k to 200k although they will be worn out after about 90k and not provide ample damping when that old.

Thank you, that helps a lot. I was thinking I read somewhere that the pro kit with factory bump stops could over travel and bottom out the shock. That puts my mind at ease. I'll buy a set of the superbumps a little later on then

What is the difference between wheelers super bumps and the factory bump stops. Sorry for the ignorance.

The factory bumpstops are basically a piece of hard rubber. These superbumps are a bit more squishy/absorbent. So bottoming out on them is less of a jarring impact over the factory experience.

BUMP for someone who has completed the lift and had an alignment done.

Were you able to get 2+ degrees of caster with the OEM UCA?

It would be wonderful if we could achieve 2-2.5 degrees to allow bigger tires.

I just got mine in today too from rogue-offroad. Numbers are good and no issues with the FedEx shipment! Hopefully install the front suspension this weekend and then decide what to do with the rear. Will do an aal if nose high.

Was wondering why no one mentions using general springs instead of the AAL. Seems like its lift is just a little taller and you can replace the whole pack without worrying about using any of the suspect OEM leafs.

Probably price and age of springs. I have just under 30K miles on my truck and I do not load up the truck very often so I assume they are in pretty good shape. An AAL will probably be the way that I go considering the price difference of about $250 between two, and that is assuming that you get the cheapest leaf pack available. For reference I am using information I found on the Headstrong Offroad web page.
