Who or what is DEFCO?

 

Deceleration Fuel Cut Off.
The curse of throttle by wire pedal (electronic) a way for manufacturers to help meat stringent EPA standards

 

So why doesn't defco react with that same surge running the stock tune? It's strictly with the new tune in D but also with ECT on running stock tune.

 

I am MT is ECT torque lock up

 

I think S mode is torque lock up.

 

DEFCO is very pronounced in Manuel trannies do to solid connection through a dry clutch.
Autos have a torque converter (fluid clutch ) acts like a cushion,by slipping .modern trannies incorporate a torque converter lock up.this will give solid connection from engine to rear end and result in better fuel mileage.
Pending how this tune adjusts shifting and lockup,auto drivers may be experiencing more of this DEFCO effect.

 

Only with the tune is S mode torque converter lock up. Stock its simply a top gear limited.
