It's a mini. The Big Squeeze will hold the 9.7 ipad pro but not the 12.9.

I have concerns over the vent being used to hold this much weight. Seems it's made of plastic...it certainly wasn't designed with this in mind.

It's good for up to a 1lb payload with the 3.7" arm or shorter. The vent on the 3rd gen is really a great spot... there's a lot of load-bearing area that the ring can clamp to, spreading the weight over an area that's already rigid because of the ring protrusion molded into the dash. I wish I could say the same for the 2nd gen. So far I haven't gotten a design I feel is sturdy enough.

I run the ipad mini in a lifeproof case. Weighs 1.04 lbs and have more than two thousand off-road miles on the setup. The thing doesn't budge and the vents show no signs of strain. The 1lb payload is a guideline and what you can get away with will vary based in the kind of driving you do and how close you can get the device to the dash. The worst way to mount it would be with the arm sticking straight out from the vent. Keep it close and you can get away with a bit more.

Things to get me in over my head
Just placed the order for a bundle, so both center vents will be ocupado with your stuff. Have to justify paying for the HEMA apps. Syked that the mini will be put to good use.

On a side note, and I have not dug into it, but a great place to have a ram ball mount for a use with a perfect squeeze would be in the dome light. Maybe something that spaces the dome light down and has two holes for a ram ball mount. It would be awesome for some of us weekend warriors that would like to keep our kids happy in the mean time.

So the RAM mount system is the one that mounts to the seat bolt frame?

I think they make something like that but that's not what I'm referring to. Our mounts are compatible with the RAM ball and socket system.

    Ram Socket: http://www.hondogarage.com/index.php/product/landing/ram-double-socket-arm

For 3rd gen Tacomas we make a dash mount that accepts a ball: http://www.hondogarage.com/index.php/product/landing/un-holey-dash-mount-tacoma-2016

Is there any reason not to get the Big Squeeze over the Perfect Squeeze for 95% iPhone use and once in a while tablet use? Is there any advantage to the Perfect Squeeze with an iPhone?
