I've seen that video. I guess I could try that and if I mess it up, just pull it all off anyway and redo the wheel.

Just buy spray goo gone. Spray it. Let it sit 5 mins. Then hit with pressure washer. Gone. Super easy.

Plastidipped my flares, filled up on gas, had 2 tiny drips pulling the nozzle out. Made nasty holes in the dip. Lol! They weren’t kidding when they say keep gasoline away.

I did remove the wheels from the truck just to avoid dripping, however you don't have to. Make sure however that when you spray the surface of the wheel, it is clean, and also that the spray can is kind of warm.
Because it was a cold day here in S.F. when I did it, I used a hair dryer to warm up the spray can a little.
Also, I discover that you don't have to wrap the tires to prevent over spray. the over spray comes off easy once you drive around for a little and the tires are warm.

Could not take all of the chrome on the limited, so dipped out the grill, fog light rings, mirror covers and badges. All came out well. Did not get very good pictures. Was not completely aware of the new sensor in limited grill, so painting that I don't think is an option. Wheels are probably next for an interim fix.

    This.

Bed Liner is more durable than PlastiDip, but it's probably a lot more difficult to remove. Since Bed Liner is textured whereas PD is smooth, it will add a different aesthetic depending on where it's used. I had the sliders on my 4Runner coated with LineX. For my Taco, I'm going to either rattle can them or roll on MonstaLiner.

Truck with black wheels.jpg Wheels.jpg Did my wheels yesterday, came out even better than I thought they would. Patience and good prep work. I have done them on a vehicle before, but I find it easier to do with them off. 8 layers of black and 2 of gloss. I am not sure about the blue Toyota yet. It would take like 10 min to take it off all 4 wheels.

I like the blue toy symbol. I really wanted to on mine but couldn't figure a clean way to do it with wheels on. Wheels off I think I could have done it.

How'd you do it and you got it nice and clean looking.

Those center caps come right off easily and so do the Toyota symbols. Three small pins on the back just squeezed with a set of pliers, being careful because of the plastic. They just snap right back in after you get them the color you want.

Again I didn't take my wheels off which probably would have made it easier. But for the life of me I couldn't get the caps off nor the toy logo to budge.

Might be that mine are 2018 Limited wheels and you have a 2017 TRD Sport, so the center cap may be different.

Has anyone painted over plastidip? I would like to use it as base layer and then spray paint over it so that I could peel it off if I didn't like it.
