What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Thanks, gonna let Mother Nature do her magic on the frame...its covered for replacement until 12.1.2018. I have a few places that are pretty close to rusting through.

 

Spray it down every night with salt. Water hahah

 

Installed a legit Carrier Bearing drop kit to take the place of my halved ass washer spacer. Figured Id replace the CB while I was at it cause it seem noisy.

After doing this I'm back to square one.... Carrier Bearings getting hot again.... KMS

I greased all the ujoints also, but I don't think that would make this issue come back.

How hot? Slip joint slide easy?

 

Just warm to the touch, and yes it slides easy, could I have add too big of a spacer? There was a tiny little difference in that.

 

They will get warm. Do you have a infared gun to get actual temp?

 

I think its abnormally warm, before I changed everything it didn't get this warm.

 

When I get home from class I'm going to take it apart again and redo everything again, see if somehow I miss-torqued something.

 

I can compare it to mine if you can get temp. HF has little infared temp guns for around $10

 

Well it gets warm and there's a squeal that wasn't there before. I am 99999999% sure that its not normal for it to get this warm.

 

Turn the truck off before reaching to tighten the tensioner.

I have to say the cooper stt pros are a great tire. I ran 11psi in the back and 15 in the front.

 

There all about the same, I got this one because it was $200 used compared to like $275 new plus shipping
