Ok. I know there has been a bit of discussion about the rattling in the tranny area when in neutral going over small bumps or just shifting on a dirt road. Is this normal? I thought it was but just want to make sure so that if it’s not I can take it to the dealer. Also when sitting still and shifting between gears there is that almost hollow tinny noise. And the last thing being the little bit of slop in the drive shaft where it meats the rear diff. Notice this while in neutral and wiggle shaft back and forth at rear diff. So when shifting mostly from 1-2-3 I get that little knock. Wonder if I should just go test drive another one just to make myself feel better. Thanks. I do love everything about it. Just want to make sure I’m not overlooking anything.

Everything I've read says it's normal. I don't like it, though. If you do happen to take it in to ask about it, let us know what they say.

find me in 30 years, odds are good I'll be in this truck. and the only original bits left will be some part of the frame rails.

    Hey,
Sorry if this has been covered. The thread is 375 pages long :(, and searching doesn't put me there. Does anyone know whether the RC62F is a direct fit into a Gen 2?,...or at least mostly direct fit? I'm really interested in this swap if it is possible. I have an FJ transfer case now, which I believe was originally paired to an auto. Can anyone steer me to the info that exists?

If I had to throw out a guess I would think they are the same externally and the differences are internal.

First time smelling burnt clutch when backing a somewhat steep driveway. Smelled a burnt and then a foul odor similar to yard waste. Didnt slip for too long but I had to give a lot of revs. How many miles do you guys think a took off my clutch? Only 10k miles on this truck.
