Windsor had quite a bit, due for over a foot there I think. That picture I took was Richmond Hill Rd. in Cheshire--that's what I take most days so I don't have to go all the way up to 8A and back down again.

I tried to buy a house in Savoy a year ago. 20 acres way out on Chapel Rd. Problem was it was a short sale and the guy refused to even relay my offers to the bank. Ended up foreclosing a month or so later for $10k less than I offered him. Probably for the best, house didn't have a heating system, had 3-4 acres of lawn, would have been an expensive first year to get what I needed to realistically live there.

 

I agree, you've gotta have cash in hand and be ready to roll if a deal pops up, otherwise half the time it'll be gone.
At the same time, you've got to be prepared to walk away, too, if it's not what you were expecting.

 

I have had the issue with my intermediate shaft for a while.. I just keep spraying it with lube every other month. If it isn't broke don't fix it....

But while you're at it want to do mine too? hahaha

 

You have the mod bug real bad , so you won't have a lot of cash laying around. Plus if you do the wife will find it and take the the hot friends out for shopping and drinks

 

Wouldn't mind that as long as I can get in on any "action" that my happen due to the drinking...

 

I'm headed down Richmond Hill Road in about an hour! And we would have been neighbors, I'm off Chapel Rd, it's a small world here on the forum. Too bad about the house, you can always install a heating system! Sounds like you are in a good place though and I tend to think most things happen for a reason.

I'm in Clarksburg near the VT line, so I go home that way sometimes if I want a bit of a drive now that Black Brook Rd. is open again. Only adds 10 minutes or so.

The guy thought the house was worth $200, I offered $160 and was concerned about it even appraising at that. I think it foreclosed for $150. Looks like whoever bought it did work to the driveway. It was pretty much just a path through a field before.

That's funny, my cousin who checks out this thread sometimes lives over the line in VT, so when we go to eachothers places hopping on Black Brook saves about 30 minutes in the winter since we don't have to drive down into Adams. In the summer you pop over Tannery Falls Rd and can still get to Rt 2. in Florida

 

Can't imagine living in the Brier area and working in north county when that was closed. Must have doubled the commute for anyone who fit into that category. Sort of a "can't get there from here" situation.

 

You are looking at him. I work in Hancock, but have to go to Williamstown and North Adams all the time. It was fucking miserable. Being able to get easily to rt 2 to go see the family or pick up some stuff for work is great. Not to mention my trip to Berkshire East is 12 minutes now and it was 30-40 when I had to go through 116 and cut over.

Haha I just priced it out at my dealership cost ~ 260ish with the shaft/yoke/bolts
I'll wait on it for now

 

They did a nice job with it at least.

The amount of drainage they put in implies that they put a lot of effort into not having that happen again if we get another Irene.

Im around 12 miles west of Great Barrington ,we have about 5" right now . Headed out to fire up the snow blower !

 

One thing I just realized... this shitty weather might affect me getting my AAL today. FAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

If I had to guess I would say somewhere near MassMocca? Probably chose North Adams because of the Hoosic Tunnel and such. Looks pretty cool!
