interesting you painted the reflectors, so do you just not have anything in the old high beam location? I'm doing my retro/BHLM tomorrow-Sunday (I did a retro on my 99' and didn't have any real problems... just giving myself plenty of time to go slow) thinking of putting inferno (got a spray can of inferno) on the ring around the projector rather than leave it chrome... we'll see how I like it.

 

Yeah I painted them because I have the bi xenon projectors now and wanted to black out all the chrome. I still have the high beam bulbs plugged just so I can seal it with the factory grommet, other then that it’s useless.

 

what about turn signal? useless too?

 

No I switched out the oem drl and angry halo for switchback

well... shit. just realized I didn't order the wiring harness (I was re-using the Denso ballasts from my 99's retrofit) so just waiting for the last paint coat to dry then I'll be sealing them back up and re-installing... but no lights until next week... UGH... that's what I get for not opening up everything when I got it rather than when I'm ready to install.

FYI mine took 3 bakes at 280 for 15 min to get the permaseal out... feel like I mangled the housing pretty good prying them out (don't give 2 shits as it's out of sight)

 

Your lights are almost exactly what I had planned on till things didn't work out. Nice job. Now I will be looking for some type of 1-off set as I like to be a little different....might be awhile..

 

Where did you buy the halos?

 

not great photos, the outside of lender was dirty and I before cleaned before I taped then up, but turned out ok. Didn't do the inferno because I couldn't get the paint to cooperate, kept cracking almost immediately upon application.

I removed the coating and used a diffuser over them

 

All this angry halo talk has me rethinking my ideas for my retrofits.......an angry bbp sounds fun.

same. You can't paint the halos themselves..the coating wont stick.

A light spray of tint on the inside helps blend them in.
