I put 'em on before the problem got too bad, but I've had a fiberglass cap since I bought the truck and my bed frame was starting to crack after ~2 years and very little off-roading with the cap on. I'd consider them a necessity if you've got anything heavier than a soft cap on top of the bed. I bought the Total Chaos ones before everyone else was making them.

    What mount are you running?

Rago makes one, but I cant seem to find any good photos of it... and they only offer the driver side. I asked about passenger and they said they were not going to make any more.

Bamf offers both. Im going to pick up a driver side one from him and mod it the same way I did the passenger side.

Ham radio on Passenger side, CB on Driver since most of the east still seems to be using CB.

    A couple spots

I think it typically start down in the bottom corners by the tailgate and then as it that gets worse the bedsides can start cracking. If you did around the Bentrodder thread I linked a couple posts back you can find some crazy photos.

Open up the tailgate and look at the lower corners where the sides meet the bottom. There's a small relief cutout there and mine was starting to crack upward toward the bed side from that relief. Not my picture, but this is the problem that the stiffeners are designed to solve.

It is going sort of near Mass Moca, probably 3-5 minutes away. They are working out some final parking lot issues and who is supposed to fix what from last I heard (railroad or current owners), and they did downsize it a little, but it is going to be GREAT for the local area. There is one like it (but bigger) in Germany and this would be one of the only others in the world, the German one gets 1 million visitors a year, if we get 10% of that, it'd have a big impact on our communities. As I am sort of in the tourism business and will be moving into it a little more as we grow, this type of news makes me very happy. The same guy who did Moca is doing this though and he has a great reputation for getting stuff done and doing it well, so there is a lot of excitement from people I've talked to who own business in the area.

    I'm in need of guidance.

I'm hearing a noise coming from my front end when I'm driving and turn my wheel to the left past a certain point. I would say it's best described as a "whirring"...definitely related to the rotation of the wheels.

    Wheel bearing.

Edit- Very rarely a CV will whir/rumble when it's going bad too, but probably 98% of the time it's the wheel bearing making noise.

    Maybe they're under warranty, then?
If you're running aggressive tires and they're starting to cup slightly on the shoulders then that can occasionally make a whirring noise depending on your speed, but it's not one I've run across very often.

Maybe, I'll call and ask. I am running DuraTracs, which haven't been rotated in a while...

Well a rotation would be an easy test, then. If it goes away then you'll know you were just getting some shoulder lug slap. :notsure:

Cool, thanks. I'll let her know, but honestly after the labor is figured in I think it's still more than a 14 y/o Subaru is worth. I'm pushing her to trade it in on a new/different ride at a dealer, since it still runs. With the mileage she's got on it they'd just send it to auction anyway.
