Prerunner to 4X4 conversion, concluded

Conversion is done. Ride around neighborhood, everything working perfectly. feeling great satisfaction right now. Just pending exhaust piping work.

 

Next to my job's Nissan Navarra, which has been my ride while Tacoma was out of service.

Exhaust done, althought I'm not too happy how it came out,I will modify again to separate pipe more from front shaft. Mean while, this project is considered complete.

 

I wonder why they dident just route it behind the tcase.

Today I build a connection to use rear differential lock light to show status of my center differential lock, having a rear mechanical lsd I didn't have a use for that light.

The first and second movement are:
2WD to 4WD Locked to AWD
The third and fourth movement are:
Hi/Lo

So what was the TRUE final cost ?

 

I've got the crazy idea to transfer the gears/shaft and forks into a FJ case, so that the manual shifting is retained but have the option to unlock the center diff. I will certainly have to alter, possibly make custom, shifting rods and add a detent for the extra stop.

If I was adding this to a manual transmission, what electrical components would I need?

 

You going with an electronic tcase?
You’d need the 4wd computer and plugs
