Sterring vibration after tires

I lifted my truck Saturday. I drove it a few miles on the stock tires over the weekend and it seemed fine.

Had my Dura Tracs mounted and balanced on my new rims today and an alignment.

Now when driving the steering wheel has a pretty noticable vibration. I've just been driving around town (25-35mph) and it's a pretty significant vibration.

Any ideas??

make sure they are actually balanced.

make sure they are bolted to the truck well

 

Incorrect balancing or possibly a loose wheel. I would have them rebalance all 4 again. Make sure it has not been statically balanced weights ether in the center only or only on the inside.

Called the tire shop and explained what was going on. They said sounds like the front tires need re-balancing. Taking it back in Saturday.

Found a damn rub on the new tires just inside the forword front fender wells...gotta trim a little this weekend!

 

A Road-force balancer is ideal for balancing big tires like the duratrac's. Discount Tire in Vegas balanced mine w/ no probs...not sure if they have a road-force, but I think they do.

 

LOL, I can' t find a discount tire in town who can balance mine. I have been driving around to six months and my truck shakes over 70mph.

 

Have them 180 the tire(s) on the wheel(s) w/ the most weight on it and then re-balance. That might help

 

i had 4 wheel parts rebalance my new tires there 295 70 17s and they were out of balance the first time. now they are fine.. have the tire shop do them again.

 

dito on checking to make sure that all the wheels are bolted down to spec...also I would have a tire shop or the same shop re-balance your tires just to make sure...

I just got new KM2's from 4wheelparts last week...

they balanced, mounted, and filled em up with NITROGEN for free... maybe they did that cause my boy works there...lol

 

Took my truck to the same local chain but in the town I work in. The 37 mile drive was hell....vibration like crazy!

VERDICT?

The shop in my town had the alignment off, the LF balance was off 4oz, LR off 3oz, RF off 1oz, RR of 1oz!

The techs were pissed! They said that was pure shoddy work by their sister shop and the manager was calling the manager of that shop.

Truck drives like it's stock now!!!

The problem lies with the balencer. It must be calibrated every so often or problems like this can arise.
