I used to live like 5 miles from an air base growing up, coolest thing sitting in the back yard watching the air shows. Then I went on a TW trip to Superstition with Juan a few years ago and had like a 8am wake up call from low flying airplanes, walk out of the tent to see the Blue Angels practicing above us, that was pretty awesome. Always been fascinated with airplanes in general

The Tora Tora Tora display is pretty interesting. It's a shame the Japanese threw so many of their worthy airframes at Kamikaze attacks late war, there's very few genuine examples anymore. My understanding is the whole Japanese squadron for that display is basically Texans with body kits on them.

There is one Zero still airworthy with its original 14-cylinder engine, but not part of that show. I bet that thing is a hoot to hear! I love jets, but piston aircraft just... they tickle some very primal part of my brain roaring by on low flybys.

    Yeah, that's why I wasn't gonna go.

Man Overland West is coming up too, all the cool stuff is happening! I'm definitely going to be back, I'm going to bring sunscreen this time hahaha. Probably just one day though, Friday or Saturday.

How are people routing their switch pros wires though the firewall?

I see that meaty looking grommet that has the hood cable and a thick wire bundle but they both seem sealed up pretty good. There's a capped off nipple looking thing though on the engine side, is that something that opens up?

All I gotta do is get the switch pros head unit cable through (4 wires and a connector) and then it's just a single blue wire to tap into a switched 12v.

Instructional wiring videos that I've watched have shown just that.

Skip to 15:30 (on mobile, youtube wouldnt let me link right to it). I think the principle should still be the same to wiring lighting. (Inner drunken Scotsman says: "They'r all jus' fookin' wyres matey")

Booooo that's bullshit... something that brought competitors over to gawk like that should be top of the heap.

But yeah I would love to see that in person. It's a piece of work that's for damn sure!
