Sorry, I had the busy shifting, no power, jerky acceleration, i guess I would say "over shifting"....to the point of being scary when trying to merge fast traffic or just getting out of the way....factory de-tuned to comply with federal emission standards or some such crap......
This forum is where I realized it wasn't just me....

This forum is a tiny percent of owners. Like less than 1%. While there are some nice guys here there are some whiners too.
There actually have been posts that go "If it weren't for this forum i wouldn't have known i have a problem! Thanks guys!"
Sorry you don't like the shifting. OV should help you. Good luck. Don't read anymore or you will get whatever you just read.

I just walk into the dealership now and hand them my iPad with the newest thread so they know what to tell me is a normal characteristic of the truck.

Dealer showed no love....they apparently record every visit to the dealership..the general manager told me he randomly selects a customer and sends an e mail asking how my visit was etc....so I sent him an e mail basically letting him know how Ive been treated and the issues with the truck....he called me right off...it boiled down to either he buys me out for 30k...still owe 32k....or he puts me in a Nissan(he is the boss there as well) for the same rate. Either way I lose.....i want to keep the truck...so an $785 dollar investment in the tune is the smartest way to go....and I keep my truck and love it...he wouldnt pay for the tune because its not sanctioned by Toyota.....I dont care really, I just want to enjoy the truck....

Did you get this out of Toyota's PR handbook, chapter 9 "Deflecting, Diverting and Denying"?

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be put in a Nissan, either. Forget that mess. Hope you get it all taken care of with the tune.

I guess a lot of forum members are making stuff up about the 3rd gens? I guess the shift sense pro and ov tune are unnecessary?

Well let me defend myself.......I got the truck in July, found and joined the forum months later because I was having a problem and thought, if I'm having issues maybe others are and so it goes, thats what I found out. I also thought, initially, I would give it a couple thousand miles to see if it changes, sort of breaking in or whatever....it didnt.....
I was a foreign auto tech for twenty five or so years, owner, operator, manager, etc....i currently restore, ride, customize old motorcycles, “re mapped” many bikes, tinkered excessively etc....doesnt make me an expert but its pretty easy to tell things arent right and certainly different than any other car or truck I drive....
Maybe Im too fussy or expect too much. So be it...

I think folks on the forums are more aware or sensitive to issues.
