Damn, that is clean. That just made me feel better about adding lights to my roof later on.

What “snag” did you run in to? I’ve got a topper rac in my garage I’m trying to find time to install.

I didn't place the Thule mounting rails far enough apart (I installed them before getting the rack) so I had to flip the TopRac mounts. Nothing too major was aggravated at myself

I used 4 2-inch u-bolts. you can find em at home depot for like a dollar each. add a fender washer and rubber washer on each side of the hole and it seals out the weather damn good.

I drilled the holes in a 2 inch square pattern along the centerline of the case so I could mount it either along or across the cab to give me configuration options. Fits my jumper cables, air on board / tire stuff, and fuel nozzles perfectly. The little plastic totes from Walmart were a PERFECT fit completely by chance. I found them after I drilled the holes.

I use carriage bolts like what this guy said:
If you are using the same case I posted above, you only need an 1” long carriage with 1/4 head. They slide right into the tracks. I used locking nut to prevent it from unscrewing with vibration
    4B6D5D65-E3CC-4298-856C-56460850A714.jpg
As you can see, I have the rubber washer then regular flat washer then nut. If you don’t use a regular flat washer, your nut will just strip out the rubber and will have a potential leak

Oh yea, now that I look closer at that pic, I see the feet are flipped upside down. Good to see thats a nice workaround.

For prinsu racks? Highly unlikely. They do give out military discount though if you call. CBI (parent company of prinsu) normally doesn’t give out a lot of codes since they are in high demand. Especially prinsu racks.

Well my replacement lower profile feet came in for the middle support of the toprac. There was just a slight problem...

The slots didn’t line up... like even a little bit. Anyone else had this issue? I’ll fix it at work tomorrow. We have a drill press. But this was surprising to me.

That's a lot of washer, but as long as it keeps it from water coming in:cheers:

Sorry you got those brackets, we thought we caught that issue before any were sent out. But it looks like we missed one. You should be the only one affected by this. Give us a call and we will get it taken care of for you.

Glad to see you are watching this thread. It appears there have been a few quality issues of late. I am hoping they are all corrected before I order my racks in the near future. Cab and topper.

No harm, no foul. I was actually putting an email to you guys to make sure you knew the issue and weren’t but mass producing a defective product. I have corrected the problem myself and they work just fine. Thanks for the reply, though!

Got my rack yesterday. Installed it by myself in about 2 hours. Everything was labeled great and all went together well. Took some fussing to get the roof bolts started when mounting but ultimately got it all. I might in the future pull those bolts back out, put some more silicone in and put a fender washer in between the spacer and the rack. The hole cutout in the rack is a bit big which means the spacer doesn’t have a ton of surface area where the rack sits. For me, it’s an issue as I plan to haul some heavy loads from time to time. I feel very comfortable hauling a pretty heavy load with this rack as it is solid! I used to have a taco with the factory racks and loaded them to the point where they were buckling. I feel confident this rack will do at least that load if not more.

I do need to play with the fairing height as currently, I have some road noise. It’s all the way down, going to try to raise it a notch at a time and then get the weather stripping if needed.

Once the weather starts to get better, if it ever does, I plan on rigging up my J-rack kayak racks to be easily installed and removed. All in all, for the price and quality of the product, I’m extremely satisfied! I look forward to seeing how versatile the rack is and how creative I can get with it.
