Welp, since you've already bought the tune get ready to throw that OEM crap out the window. There are a lot of happy tuned A/T owners. Just be aware that this is still a naturally aspirated 3.5 with quite tall gearing. The tune won't cure that, but it does help.

Got it thanks zippy. Sorry you’re having problems with it. I have about 2500 miles on mine and I knew about the gear hunting complaints, etc. going in. I haven’t seen it be too bad for me but traffic and driving around here is not an intense sport like it is in metro areas. Part of why I got the F out of hotlanta a while back.

The only thing people forget is the scale. Of course people have problems. Of course people are unhappy. And unhappy people with problems go post on the internet, hoping for solutions or to rally like minded people behind them. The thing is, Toyota sold almost 200K Tacomas last year! The demand is so great they are building another factory to produce them. There are maybe a thousand or so people who are members here. Say half have a problem. That's pretty good for 200K sales.
I know they have problems but just because its a big deal on this forum, its probably not a big deal with respect to the other 200K owners out there.
I do hope the OP finds satisfaction with OV. It sucks to be disappointed with your vehicle for any reason.

Bingo. The game is sales, and Tacoma is winning that game. Nothing else matters.

Yep, unfortunate in some ways too.

He put together a damn good write up on a suspension upgrade he added to his truck (part numbers, prices, pics, tips etc etc). I think it was a 2 or 2.5 inch lift, coilovers, leaf packs etc.

    :notsure:

He was given a vacation or two before the permanent if I recall correctly.

He had great information, but it just got up really, he trolled every 3rd gen thread with negativity, so others had to troll with positive posts, just destroyed third gen threads so real issues where not truly being heard and discussed. Folks with good information left TW because he wouldn't stop, that hurt the site. Sucks, because when he wasn't on the rampage, seemed like good guy with a shitty deal of a truck.

The OVtune, I can see that might be on my list someday, could be nice for mountain driving.

Yep.. I'm sure there are some guys in one of the OV threads who are tuned and live in, or drive to the mountains that could offer their opinion. I'm basically at sea level with a M/T so.. no good advice there lol.
