I think that’s exactly what it is because the guy I got it from said that pig tail will light up the dome light as well. Do you know what color the ground might be?

Yeah I noticed you said it needs to be 3-3.5* for the caster. I did not get a spreadsheet unfortunately. I was so ready to get out of there and get home to let my dogs out.

Where do you get your alignments?

It’s got a little steering wheel wobble that wasn’t there before I took it in. I figure that’s just tires not being balanced right but I’m not an expert by any means. Over 80mph it gets a little too wobbly.

Overall, the highway wander isn’t that bad, but it’s not quite how I’d like it.

    Appreciate any input! Thanks man

Going to mess with the wiring tomorrow. I’ll poke around and report back with how many fuses I blow :D

Do you have a picture of the pig tail and the wires going into it? Typically ground (negative) is black in DC systems

    Excuse photo quality.

It’s got two 15amp fuses (one for dome and one for third brake light?)

Three wires are red, black and red with white stripe.

Has smaller gauge wire going the the dome light and both are red/black pairs in the photo of the dome light.

Would I possibly tap both red wires into the green wire on the passenger tail light? Assuming the black would be the ground?

Hopefully I don’t sound like too big of an idiot I just don’t wanna mess my shit up lol

Is the wiring that is running behind the dome light and going to the caps brake light the red w/ white stripe?

If this is the case, it appears to me that the red w/ white stripe is your positive wire for your third brake light.

This would mean that the solid red wire that is running to your dome light is the positive wire for your dome light.

If there are only three wires that are on the connector pigtail, that would mean the two black ones are your ground wires. And the red ones are your positives (red w/ white stripe would be your positive for your 3rd brake light) (the solid red would be your positive for your dome light) and they both share the same black ground wire.

You would tap both the red wire and the red w/white striped wire into the green w/ red striped wire on the driver side brake light and then you would tap both of the black wires into the white w/black striped wire on the driver side brake light.

So to reiterate and try to simplify things since this can be kind of confusing with all the colors and wires..

    In the tail light housing:
    • Green w/red stripe= tacoma brake wire positive (+)
    • White w/black stripe= tacoma brake wire ground/negative (-)

    In the camper shell:
    • Black= Dome light & 3rd brake light ground/negative (-)
    • Red w/white stripe= camper 3rd brake light positive (+)
    • Red= camper dome light positive (+)

Sorry if im not the best at explaining things.. i hope this helps some though. Wiring is kind of a pita for me to explain in paragraphs without confusing everyone :bananadead:

Just got a cap and wired it. Red/white was brake light signal. I think your wire to tap is green/red going to the brake light.

Solid red is signal for dome light. I wired mine to running lights so when they’re on I can run the dome light.

I’m the worst at wiring and got it figured out. You should be good.

I'd have 4wp fix your probs rather than take it somewhere else. That is, unless they don't mind refunding your cash. Yeah, you need 3-3.5* caster, with camber n toe to factory spec. Caster can be sacrificed to get camber in spec, but too low of caster and your gonna have drivability issues at higher speeds and you'll need to compensate by replacing your UCA's. The high speed steering wheel shake is most likely wheel balance, but Id have them check torque on everything. If they can't seem to get things right, get your money back and I'll be happy to help you. Just let me know if you need anything.
