    Yes. The USB charger that I installed has a blue LED that says on all the time. It hasn't affected my battery after sitting for a few days. But yes, if you leave something plugged in, it will eventually drain the battery. I only use mine for keeping my phone charged while using Waze or Google Maps, but I did want constant power if needed. If I ran into any trouble, there is the option of installing a small, hidden switch to cut the power. We'll see what happens this summer when I am riding more often.

    With keyed power, you would not drain the battery. You just need to be aware of any overloads. Not likely with 15A, but . . .

    I don't think it's really a charging port, rather a connection port to the head unit (?)
    Seems we only have 2 / 12V connections available, one on the dash and another in the console. Both require adapters if USB connectors are to be used.

    Yes. It seem like it has just enough output to power a thumbdrive for music.

    Still, it would have been nice for it to output more amps. I have adapters, but even the smallest doesn't allow the cover on the dash port to close.

    There was already a blank spot on the left side in my Taco. The dual port that I used kept my phone happy for navigation on a long trip and charged my 20,000mAh jump pack at the same time.

    Since I was already back there for the camera power installation and it was $10 when I bought it, well . . .

    BTW: Toyota Head Unit (regardless model) pin out schematic and firmware (S/W) still the same since 2014. As long as you have 28 pin connector in the back of Head Unit AND similar menu on the screen then HAI cable will works.
