Ide park it in the middle of the showroom by driving it through the front door, i did it once before. While your checking the transmission, check the brakes.

Toyota dealers are witches. They actually put a hex on you before you get in the car. Its true. There's a thread here somewhere about it.

You go for a test drive. You don't notice the fucked up seating position. You don't notice the crappy stereo. You don't notice the lack of power seat adjustments. The fact that you have to manually turn off the headlights is never noticed. You read the list of options but "rear drum brakes" does not register in your mind.

During the test drive, the salesman presses a hidden button and the auto shifts like an F1 paddle shifter....gears are perfectly placed...upshifts and downshifts are done with precision (and at always at the RPM and speed that optimizes performance). The rear end is dead silent and the shift nob is tight as a drum.

You're hooked, you sign the papers. While you are doing so the salesman gets the car prepped. They loosen the shift nob. They drain half the diff fluid. They press a magic button that simultaneously makes the truck shift like shit while the rear diff howls. You drive off the lot and the hex they cast on you disappears.

Ya but not a one came hold a freaking nalgene size water bottle, you know the size that almost every freaking company makes them in.

Are the same size as all the useless ones in the double cab?
    New technology :notsure:

run 91 non ethanol. only issues ive had is loose shift knob and squeeky rear leaf spring which they fixed during normal service at 15k and i didnt even ask about it which was great. Shifting issues non existant with the better fuel and thats in 275 70 18s. shifts fast, consistant downshifts and predictable upshifts great power for a little truck...

? My memory isn't quite what it used to be, and honestly it's always been shit.

Seriously, haven't seen that movie in a long time, don't remember if I read the book, cause king is about the only books I have read.

Let me give your memory a jog....but you'll have to fill in the blank....

"My asshole brother bought her back in September '57. That's when you got your new model year, in September. Brand-new, she was. She had the smell of a brand-new car. That's just about the finest smell in the world, 'cept maybe for -----."
