just an Excitable Boy

Hi, everyone! I'm born and raised in SoCal and have lived in Carlsbad the last 35 years. There was a time I could actually tear a car apart and rebuild it (66 Mustang). Not anymore! Right now I am trying to get back on the road a 1999 Tacoma 6 banger. Rats got to some of the wiring (coil pack terminal) and I'm looking to find a wire terminal extractor so I can get the wire out of the coil connector. The problem is that a lot of these tools don't work on every vehicle. I need two things:1)The specs on the size of the hole in the coil connector. 2) What wire terminal tool extractor should I get that will work on this connector? Any assistance would be appreciated.

 

How bad is it eaten. Pics?

Thanks, Sperrunner for asking. So far, only the one coil pack connector is a problem, but you never know. I could still find further damage down the road, but I hope not. Right now I need to also find out the wire size that goes into the connector. If you know give a holler. The wife is calling but I'll check back later. Nice hearing from you!

It will for future wire messes, I've had to deal with some on both honda's and toyota's. I sometimes even mess up the connector so hopefully this tool helps me.

 

Thanks for all the input guys! Hopefully I won't need to buy the whole harness. I'm aware of the tools, but the spec as to the size of the connector release hole is really what I need. All the reviews of these tools have complaints about them saying they don't work in the various terminals. Thus if I have the spec size I'm hoping to match it with the specific tool. You would think there would be these specs somewhere, but so far Butkus. If anyone comes across it let me know. Thanks again.

Is this what is damage? Is so why not just just but a kit with multiple sizes amd if it doesn’t work return it.
But the tool kit i sent you was designed for car terminals so im sure it will work it has many different sizes

Thank you. I checked the site but when I put in the vehicle info it said the connectors were not compatible with my truck. My connector, itself, is not the problem, If I can get the wire out of it I can reuse the undamaged connector. Let me know if you ever find the connector hole size.
