So I guess I'm still a little bit ignorant when it comes to these, will I gain lift from the shock itself in the rear? I know I should see close to 2" up front from the new springs. Is an AAL necessary to raise up the back or is it simply to keep a rake?

 

No lift from the shock in the rear. All in the springs, blocks, whatever.

 

Both the gen 2 PRO and BAJA use digressive valved bilstein 6112 variants. The valving may be tuned slightly differently. The main difference is spring rate.

The gen 3 PRO uses progressive FOX shock absorbers.

So I've read the 65 or so pages in this posting. When initially reading, I thought it was a good deal for the shocks and the pages following confirmed my thoughts. (I'm new since i just bought my 2006 Tacoma about 2.5 weeks ago. Bought a set through OEMParts, went through the email trail of the parts not available right now, but will come in. They came in and they shipped the shocks from Washington state to my location which is in South Carolina. So far so good. Tracking, etc. updated. On this week past, I get notice they are here. Go to the UPS hub and no go. Not there, still in North Carolina. Come back.

Go back next day. No joy...but it states they are here. Well, "that's a fake tracking info". Its not real. Its where the box is supposed to be but its not. So now UPS starts a search for the box. How do you lose a 60 pound box? So, talk to a guy in India for UPS who says they can't even update me. They have to update the sender which makes sense. The contract of carriage is between UPS and OEM Parts. I'm just the third party beneficiary in this situation although I paid for shipping. Contact OEMParts to let them know what's going on and to let them know UPS tried to call them.

Today, I called UPS and received the same runaround without actually ever talking to anyone. All phone tree, no real person interface. Bottom line though is that they won't talk to me. Emailed OEMParts again to ask them to please find out from UPS what is going on. Couple of hours later I get a message from UPS. I have a delivery coming in a week. Now what's going on? The tracking number is still on 28 Feb trying to figure out where the package is. They also sent a new tracking number.

Get an email from OEMParts. UPS send the box back to them and they sent it out again to me...with UPS!! I have never seen such stupidity.

 

OEM is a straight outfit. Sounds like a mix up to me. Follow your new tracking number closely.

I thought Pro was progressive and Baja was digressive?

 

Third gen PRO is FOX which is progressive. Bilstein 6112 is digressive.

Anyone have toytec's progressive 3leaf add-a-leaf? Claim 2.5" with ol and 2 w/o ol. If so how do they ride? I have not seen much discussed about them.

 

Also, oem required signature for mine. So after I got the notice I missed them, I hauled ass back to their hub. They're supposed to retry a couple times, but I wasn't taking a chance. Caught the box at the hub.

 

Once you get the tracking from UPS you can change it so they will deliver to your closest hub and keep it there for you to pick up. That way you won't miss it. I have UPS My Choice I think it is called. Easy to sign up for and to control your shipments.

 

Is the rear all stock? No AAL or blocks?
