You screw up, you get the consequences. If the security guard (NOT a cop!) felt that was the best choice, it's his call - no the rest of you Monday Morning Quarterbacks.

As for him... Penn State should kick his ass out. Obviously too dumb to be there. In fact, I just went to the school web page and asked them. We'll see if I get a reply.

Well, I think maybe you went a little overboard there. He was a dumbass and got tazed, but his life should go on. He got arrested and he's still just a 17 year old kid. I don't think anyone here hasen't made a dumb mistake at one time.

That is a hard call. Maybe excessive, maybe not. A taser is a non lethal means of stopping someone. It could have been worse. You don't know what kind of weapons he might or might not have had, especially in this day and age.

Yup, you're right. He just happens to be wearing a uniform similar to some rent-a-cops I've seen. My bad.

x2! tasing him was necessary, and in my opinion probably punishment enough. those things hurt like shit, i feel like he probably learned his lesson.

He is committing a crime and needs to be stopped. Lets review our options:

    1. Tackle the subject

    2. Tase the subject

If you tackle him you risk injury to yourself and him, even though he is the one causing the issue. I have seen many people get hurt while tackling someone.

If you tase him, you only risk minor injury to the person who caused all of this, and you risk less injury than if you tackle him.

    No question about it.

You're a LEO...you signed up for "dangerous" work...trip him...don't shoot him full of electricity.

It sets an example; you screw around like that and you will get tazed. Pain is unbelievably fast in making people learn their lesson.

LEO's sign up for dangerous work...not to get hurt while performing their duties because some 17 yoa jackass can't control himself.

The family of the kid should be made to pay for the amount of time on national tv it took to arrest him since he stopped the game and extended the game on tv.

Dangerous was in quotes = sarcasm = not really dangerous to chase a kid around the outfield.

Maybe the cop could go to the kid's house, and threaten him and his family with a taser...then they'd pay.:D

Get over yourself, bkeith. The little prick got what he deserved. Everybody and his brother knows you can't run out on the field of a sporting event without consequences.

What do you suggest? Let him run himself out? Tackle him without the tase? What if doing so broke his leg? Would you be btching about them tackling him? Maybe you'd want them to hit tickle him into submission.

Taser is non-lethal, and in this case didn't cause any permanent damage.
