Yeah the pre 98 ECUs don't handle boost of any kind well. You'd basically have to have a piggyback to make any boost work.

    not true.

they did a redo on the 97 ecu and it'll run the blower. Thats why 97 is the cherry year. Has the boostable ECU and way less emissions stuff.

Doesnt that only apply to Tacoma though, the supercharger sheet never listed T-100 for compatibility. Although you could probably just use a Taco ecu

    can't imagine why you couldn't..

thats a long travel kit. Not stock width. There is no aftermarket LCA for 1st gens that are stock width on the market.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Flushed my cooling system 5 or 6 times (honestly lost count). And started the timing belt / water pump replacement.

    I made it this far.

Packed it in for the night when I hit a snag. The forward bolt on the hydraulic tensioner seems to be siezed. (red arrow)(the bolt is comi ng from underneath)

Decided to hose it down with Deep Creep and pack it in for the night before I start getting pissed off over it.

Back to "What I've done today"... Months ago I finally found an inexpensive, matching 16" OEM aluminum rim and today I finally got a matching KO2 full size spare on the 16" rim. Now I can install all the new Tundra brake parts without worrying about the stock 15" spare not fitting. Thanks for the tire, @kingk0ng !

I hope it fits under the truck without too much hammering to the bracket!

They said they can't fit a uniball in the space of a stock lower. Even if they did the orientation isn't ideal. You could get their upgraded spindles I guess, but the money is close to LT so why not just do that.

The only real advantage would be it's a double shim setup. But other than that nothing. And I'm just messing about.

For me the up graded long travel kit is a no go because of width restrictions on certain trails. Along with the extra cost in fenders paint ect.

Yessir, looks like the hard work of mashing two shocks on one small arm has been accomplished, uniball lower seems like it is too tough to accommodate in the space given and the one inch push forward may impact steering rack reach and alignment variables. So all in all it's a solid 6 outta 10. Maybe now another company will see there's interest and one up them.
