    Prerunner sr5 here, spoke with a sales rep for 4wheelparts.com about pro comp 16x8 rims he claims there is clearance issues with the brake calipers. Can someone confirm or refute that claim. If true would 17x9 rims fit a stock suspension prerunner platform? Lift is not desired. TIA

    What's the backspacing on the rims? It seems that would be the issue. 16x8 is a pretty common size

    I've got the Pro-Comp 7069 which are 16x8 w/ 4.75 back spacing. They are pretty close to the brake caliper but no issues.

    EDIT: its a 4" back spacing

    Maggot that is exactly the style and size I initially chose 4" back spacing and -12 offset. Another member lifted, albeit, stated the same as sales rep. Member stated after fitment he had about 1/16 clearance from the calipers.

    ll be honest, it's close and had me worried at first so i threw on some spacers. Took the spacer off after about week and took my chances and I've had no issues at all. FYI, i run my truck pretty hard too.

    Here's some pics;

    How does y'alls trucks perform in the snow? I got stuck in about 2inches today. I'm thinking it's bc my tires are fairly low on tread and I have no extra weight in the rear, but I still don't think it should be this bad.

    Tires make a big difference. Dedicated snow tires are the best. That's what I ran on my first 2 Tacos.

    But the last 3 winters I've run Duratracs with good results. In deep snow they're about as good as snow tires. In compacted snow I would give the edge to the snow tires though. I've never seen stuck with either one.

    I have a couple of extra rims with the Duratracs on them. That way I can just run them when I need them....and off when I don’t.

    This is what your undercarriage looks like after 25 miles in 15+ inches of snow. Made it home safely.

    Thanks for the response, I figured that's what it was, I have nitto trail grapplers, but they're getting close to dead so that must be why I get stuck so easily. New tires should be coming soon tho

    @Plain Jane Taco has some really great knowledge on PeeRunners in the snow, so if he advises something I would listen

    That it is. I remember that truck when it was a wee little baby and now look at it. Brings a tear to my eye. I remember the night @bigfoote13 started the GoFundMe to get @ChadsPride lifted. Now look at that damn thing, it’s beautiful.

    Don't know about great knowledge. But I've commuted 50 miles a day to work and back for nearly 25 years. I've driven in all imaginable conditions...including some gnarly snow conditions with nary an accident or getting stranded....all with never owning a 4x4.
