My new Bilstein coil overs are 5100s with the Toytec threaded adjustment. I want to lower the front, currently 3 inches of lift from stock. I would like to lower the front about .5 inches. My question, how hard are the adjuster to turn? Any idea how many turns to accomplish approximately .5 inch drop? Then I am going to turn the driver side a little more to level as there is about 3/8 inch difference side to side. I also figure this will give me a little more adjustment to get a better alignment (even with the SPC arms). I assume I will need to actually drive the truck between adjustment or at least roll it several feet to allow the wheel/tires to sit naturally after dropping off the jack stands?

    Any experience with this appreciated.

No, the Toytec Ultimate lift has threaded adapters that allow infinite adjustment between 0 and 3 inches, they do not use the clips. They include a set of wrenches to adjust.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
Jack the front of the vehicle up so the spring load is minimized. take the wheels off and spray the threads with wd40 or thread lube and adjust and needed.

Thats how you'd adjust any coilover.

Make sure the threads are clean
Jack the truck to let the tire hang, use jack stands
Lube the threads generously with a light penetrating oil. I use breakfree. Don't use heavy oil.
    Make the adjustment
Drive a short ways to settle the suspension and re-measure
Repeat till it is where you want it
    Lock the adjustment collar

I don't know whether your suspension has split ring adjusters or solid. On the Toytec website they show the 2.5 systems as still having solid rings. Others appear to have split rings. If yours has split rings, I would read this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/split-ring-adjusters-on-coilovers.536079/#post-17250492

Well that is the kind of info I need as I do not know the difference in solid and split?

It's easy to tell. If you have a split ring, it will be locked by a pinch bolt. If you have solid rings, you will have two rings. They lock by jamming the rings together.

See, thing is, I see no split and no lock ring?

Exactly like the ones on their website.

On their website, the ultimate system shows one ring with no split (unless it is on the back side in the photo). I don't know Toytec systems too well, but it seems strange they would have an adjusting collar with no way to lock it. If it isn't clear in the instructions how that adjustment is made, I would ask them. A split ring looks like this: http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...d=1587&img=assets/images/KSS-25001-119_xl.jpg It's easy to tell.

Maybe they have a nylon tipped grub screw or some other way of locking it? Maybe they just didn't think it require a lock? I don't know. Their Boss system uses two ring, so they must think that system needs to be locked. I don't have the answer.

There is NOT a split ring. That is for sure and there is not a lock ring so there must be a set screw?

Seems like there is a third option, neither split nor locking but either a set screw or simple friction. Going back on the wuh, wuh, wuh, I see these exact units being installed on this forum back even five years or so. So they are exactly the way they have been, whatever way that is?

Please excuse the dirt but I off road twice every day!
