Newfoundland and Newfoundlanders have a Connection to the U.S some will say more than Canada! Given Newfoundland's strategic location in the Battle of the Atlantic , The U.S built many military bases here! We are proud we could help in that terrible time.

'Tanks b'ys, and everyone else ;)

Of course.....was it a high school they turned to a temporary relief shelter that she stayed at? That's the typical Newfoundland hospitality. We wouldn't have it any other way!

There's also the Lanier Philips story. A man on the WWII ship USS Truxtun, that ran aground off St. Lawerence (a little bay town in Newfoundland). The ship was wrecked, Lanier made it to shore, and was nursed back to health by the local women. He couldn't believe how well they treated him. Hey, it was a long time ago, but I guess its another example of the hospitality we're known for :)
