I think the new ones say 7.5". That's with a ubolt flip, but I think the length would be about the same.

We'll see. More lift will actually help me get to 50/50 up/down travel, or even have slightly more up if I get a lot of lift. I was going to cycle them, but Alcan must know me too well, and highlighted the part of my invoice that said any disassembly or modification will void warranty. :D I'll also have to measure my thickness of the packs, and adjust my bump stops accordingly. If I have to move my lower shock mounts I will, but don't foresee that being an issue.

Anyways, finished all the sound deadening, only have one sheet left out of the 72 square feet I bought. Most of the interior is back together. Finishing touches, leaf install, and test drive next weekend if everything goes well.

It looks like the top most leaf does not go "eye to eye"?
Are your springs pre- broken for you?

Cool man. Interested in knowing how well the sound deadening stuff works. I was looking at that gold stuff everyone else used. Trying to figure out which route to go.

Guy at Alcan called it a torque leaf. Not sure the reason for it, but I'd be curious to know. Leo's springs don't have one.

Possibly something to help combat axle wrap.

Ok I haven't looked into the products yet. I will before I pull the trigger on some. Kind of busy with other things at the moment. Thanks Bud.

Dam I know that feeling of not wanting to tear the interior apart after putting it back together. I'm going to try and get my entire cab redone at the same time so I won't have to take it apart again for a long time.

Maybe I'll take it apart again but yeah all those little clips I dread working with more than anything with bolts haha.

Having a warranty is actually a good business practice cause it incentivizes not fucking with things and messing them up and makes customers think you're there for them should the product cause them issues (unlikely in the case of leaf springs haha).

The torque leaf is to help stop axle wrap when you hit the gas hard. I’m pretty sure my allpro pack also has this.

And it somehow does this better by being half a leaf
I need to retake my physics courses I guess.

Yep, it helps keep the axle from rotating pinion up under throttle

Weird enough it is actually pretty common in drag racing to see two piece fiberglass leafs do this too to avoid wrap.

My order from Alcan has them too. Were Leo's stock length? Mine were 2 inches longer so I was thinking maybe thats why I got a torque leaf?
My guess is its a half leaf so it does not add to the overall stiffness or weight support of the pack but can assist in reducing axle wrap.

Leo's are stock length. My guess is it has to do with the inverted shackles.

Yeah I considered that too, but later. I have a silly shackle flip like a 1st gen(secret stalker :spy:) so that would make sense. ;)
