Called a coyote in by accident while turkey hunting (killed coyote ).. Went coyote hunting in a major snowstorm with a coyote call and called in a bunch of turkey?

I was elk hunting and called a coyote in with a cow call...I blasted the coyote since I figure it was chasing calves at some point. I didnt ruin spooking elk because I didnt see any that day;)

I went out yesterday after work for a quick set up. Called for less than a minute, had a pack open up howling back. Not 5 minutes later had four in a field. Killed one and shot at the others. Cant beat a good semi auto .223 with a 30 round mag.

Might as well post some pictures here too... some of you already see these but oh well.

We catch a few predators a year, let most of them go unless they’re something special.

Some coyotes too when we get the chance of course.

This was a somewhat local tournament called the Carolina Coyote Classic. A total of 67 coyotes were harvested with the winner bringing in 14 over two days (possibly three) I didn't enter but man that's a lot of coyotes!

Them tournaments are a fun time!
Me and a buddy just hunted the U.S. Eastern Coyote Calling Championship in late Jan. It took 25 coyotes in two days to win. Guys hunted in Illinois and Indiana to win it.

Made a bunch of stuff black.
Like @Armed in Utah said, we get paid to kill them in this state. You have to take it's jaw, ears, and get a gps coordinate of where you shot it. In my area there is a lot of people who road hunt them. It kind of ruins it for the guys who aren't afraid of going for a little hike to try and call one in. I live within 15 minutes of real good coyote area in all directions. I get a few a year.

A lot of the coyotes in my area are smart and it is very difficult to get them to come in to calls. It would take me a month and access to a lot more land to kill 25 coyotes. Although, I've been getting more and more land recently just from folks saying I hunt them. I'm somewhere around 1k private acres that I can coyote hunt on now.

Well so far I’m the only guy he’s had who has never damaged fences I mend them actually if my trucks near by and I generally do 10-20 dogs a winter for him and he’s not lost a calf due to coyotes since

Probably finished up our lion season this past weekend, unless it snows again. Cleaned up with 21 lions in a tree, pretty good year.
