Driving around the sierra vista area looking at houses in the more rural parts of the town/county with the wife. Discussion turned to new cars and got her thinking about replacing her old outlander with a 4runner instead of the jeep renegade that she was set on before.

The game is so boring, I’m going to sit here and judge the lighting, and just critique your work, shaking my fist saying wtf kind of shadow is that chip, adjust the angle and brightness.

So now that I’ve used the foam cannon more than once, my only qualm with the chemical guys stuff is that both solutions I’ve used leave a gross residue on the glass. Meh. Open to other foam stuff if y’all got suggestions.

I don’t have anything to do with any camera you get to see, unless a play is under review.

2nd period was better than 1st, but still.... I am watching the game in Annapolis with 40 mph winds.

Was it the honeydew snow foam? Been forever since I used it but I don't recall any residue...

I went and grabbed that exact PN from lowes tonight, plus one size smaller. Both seem to have a little bit of slack if you just slip it over the harness, does it clamp down tighter when you actually shove it in the firewall?

    Workin' on it....
    Need some help TW peeps.

Everything was going fairly well until I was putting stuff back together. Followed the Total Chaos install advice for coilovers and skipped the UCA install for now.

Disconnected the sway bar, loosened the castellated nut on the upper ball joint, shocked it loose, swapped in new coil over, got lower shock bolt in, started castellated nut, put sway bar back in and snugged everything up.

Problem is with the castellated nut on the upper ball joint - I get to a certain point, there is lots of slack left and then the whole misalignment (don’t know if that is the right term) bolt / spacer rotates with the castellated nut but it won’t tighten.

Nope hammered on the flat front section of the spindle - did not strike the nut or ball joint. I’ll try futzing with some compression or tension on the taper and see what happens.

Was just about to say the same things. Sounds like your ball is spinning in its socket. First check the threads, if you pull it back out you basically should be able to hand tighten it all the way down along the threads- if it gets crunchy partway through there's part of the problem.

If that's not the case, do what RPS said and try to get that spindle's taper down a bit tighter on the shaft, and it should allow you to get it tightened.

So got it fixed with some tension. Took a pry bar and small socket and wedged that between the UCA and spindle and while I was putting some load on it to distract the upper ball joint I got the nut tightened. I think the castellated part of the nut was a little crunchy / rusty (5 year old truck) and it just needed to get past that point.

    Thanks so much @RPS1030 & @Nitori!!
