Got a few hours a free time today and did only the rears. AAL’s still haven’t showed up so I’ll do those later along with the fronts and ECGS bushing.
I also wanted to test out how the ride feels with only the rear shocks in, got some rake back...haha
I will take a drive tomorrow to see how much they settle and how the ride feels.

Why is the re-use of the overload spring not recommended?

I've wondered the same thing. Many do use the OL. But apparently they're designed to be used without it. Makes me wonder if there is a compromise (other than harsher ride).

I used mine with the HS AAL and have no problems. I think it may have something to do with the Icon spring retainers and OEM OL retainers.

I already had the pro setup with my baja but I AAL (skyjacker - soft ride with 2" inch lift - $108 kit) today so it sits 1 inch higher in the rear than the front now. Rides and drives great. Didn't have to cut or mess with any factory brackets and was super easy but a little time consuming since I didn't use power tools. Added it leaving shock on, tires on, and didn't have to take leaf packs off truck (didn't even loosen the end brackets). Just took lower shock bolt out and center leaf bolt out with 2 C clamps then added new leaf to each side. My factory ubolts had plenty of thread but did have to trim the new center bolt for the leaf packs. 37's in the front (stock) and 38's (with skyjacker) in the rear for measurements. Rear was 36 prior to skyjacker soft rides. Left OL leaf in too.

This site also sells the no drill airbags. I didn't put those on but I have seen that several have in this forum.

My take is because instructions call it a 1.5 inch lift. The OL will add another 0.5 inches to be at 2 inches total.

I have hit 1000 on the new suspension and I am officially having some needle bearing issues. I was really hoping staying under 2 inches would allow me to avoid this issue, but it appears I will likely need to do the ECGS bushing install. I have been feeling a rubbing sensation coming from the passenger side front end immediately after installation but it was so faint it was hard to reproduce. It has been getting progressively more noticeable and I can now feel it go away when I switch into 4WD.

My truck now has 50K miles and I have read that Toyota is addressing this issue under the 60K mile powertrain warranty with a newly designed bearing. Any ideas how I can get Toyota to cover this with the lift installed? I could always bring the front back to stock to bring it to the dealer, but I would be afraid the sound goes away.

Can they really say much considering it's an oem suspension upgrade?

I would assume they would say this suspension is from a 2015 TRD Pro and was never designed for installation in a 2017 TRD Sport.

Newly designed bearing is just a bandaid and you'll have to fix that to eventually. Still has those needle/teeth...invest and get the ECGS. My 2 cents.

However If you search through the thread I Believe people had the lift and the dealership did the TSB for the needle bearing. Most likely each may vary.

I'm pretty sure once the needle bearing goes bad the vibes should still be there....only one way to find lol

If buying the ECGS bearing, is it safe to assume the dealership would have the proper tools to remove/install or are the tools ECGS specific?

From what I have read/seen on here dealer won't install ECGS bushing, not oem part.
